Salzberg to London to Innsbuck. A crazy perfumed week. In pictures.

It really is too warm here in the middle of Europe to write much. Looking at pictures is less strenuous. And by warm, I mean hot. Yesterday was 40 degrees in Vienna and my flip-flops stuck to the hot pavements.

I went to London with Hannah, sometimes known as The BlondesWunder. The trip was documented by Tara on our favourite Olfactoria´s Travels, and by Pia on the wonderful Volatile Fiction. After returning from England, I drove to Innsbruck with my trusty therapist Dr. Fox for a lunch date with Vero Kern. I will share a few of our photos.

I am grateful for the perfumed friendships I have formed. They enrich my life and add a vibrancy that would otherwise be missing.

Where do you dream to travel to meet perfumistas or do you already have stories? PLease share in the comments.

This is wonderful. A marvellous record of a fun time with so many of the great characters from our perfume community. I particularly like the photo of Hannah turning her nose up at something she has smelt.

Re your question, I have many dreams still and also have stories…;)

Yes, I’m with V, this is wonderful, Val. So many great pics. I never fail to get a thrill from re-living these meet-ups. I was so lucky to get to see you again so soon too. I hear the temp has now dropped. Just my luck to visit during the hottest Vienna July ever – it didn’t spoil it for a second though. Who needs sleep? 🙂

Oh and Isi looks like he is totally blissed out!

Sleep is at times quite useful. But sometimes we have to go without! Ha! Great picture of Isi huh? Vero took it. It really was fun. Roll on the next one. January should be an explosion. xxxxx

    • Tara says:

Dream meet-ups would be in San Fran, Croatia, Denmark and Sydney (for starters).

    Val,
You are a freaking Force Of Nature. What a great way to show us the fun and frollicks of your meet ups. I loved seeing my chums from Old Blighty and of course the ever lovely BlondesWunder. Hug the crew from me, see you soon,

    Hi Val!

I love seeing the pics and imagining the great fun your meet-ups are. I would love to meet so many of the people who I know from blogs, and I’m sure that will happen eventually. Keep me posted on your adventures!

I’m looking forward to DC’s opening of Shoshana (Ari from Scents of Self) in September, and the perfumistas in the area and up and down the east coast will be coming to the opening.

    Holly xo

    • cookie queen says:

Hi Holly! If I was anywhere near DC I would be there like a shot. I will be in New York, which is nearer than Austria but still won´t work out! Seriously – how freaking exciting is that? Shoshana. Gorgeous name. I hope you are gonna write about the opening and take some pictures. You will eventually meet people. It has only happened for me in the last couple of years – life after 50. Hahahahaha. xxxxxxxx

  7. Fantastic post, Val. Love all the photos, you all look so happy and enjoying every single bit. 🙂
My dream meeting place would be Milan, though I would be happy wherever and whenever I can get to see any of you lovely perfumistas.

I think Milan should be possible. Perhaps if people know a year in advance or so we could do it? I know a decent hotel, great breakfast, and near the show, that we can stay in. Plus it has a really affordable working man´s cafeteria behind it. Cheap and nice quality. It can be done on a relative shoestring once you are there. Problem is getting there of course. Hmmmm. xxxx

I love your photo essays, Val! Does Hannah ever play poker? I hope not! Isi the dog is a real charmer! What fun!

Thank you for this delightful recap, Val <3

I am up for a Milan meetup one year; the only problem right now is which year as all my free time is booked up way ahead 😀 2017? 😀

What a fab photo essay Val! It just makes me so happy to hear meet up stories, & I love the pics. This time next year I will be there too. $$ are being horded for the trip.

Maybe one day a Sydney meet up, too. Fingers crossed.

I think my dream place for meeting perfume people would be Sydney, just because I dream of travelling there after hearing so much about it from friends. But the next journey abroad is more likely to go to Vienna, Berlin or Paris. It looks so fun to meet up, thank you for sharing the photos!

While waiting for a meetup,I am enjoing some of this year’s Marillenkonfitüre (spelling?), so colourful and fragrant. I have to say Lower Autria must have some of the best apricots in Europe, just wish I had been there to eat them also fresh from the tree.

    • cookie queen says:

I love apricots. The Austrian ones are wonderful. Please let me know if you are in Vienna and I´ll jump on a train immediately! xxxxxxx

  12. poodle says:

Great pictures! I love to see these meet-ups. Looks like so much fun.
I’m not fussy about location. I’m just happy if I finally get the chance to put a face and a voice with the names.
    Hugs.

    • cookie queen says:

Hi Poodle! Yep, it was excellent fun, if not a little tiring!! I love having faces to names too. I am still hoping to maybe see you in New York. Big hugs. xxxxxx

  13. Esperessence says:

Wonderful photographs ! Wonderful to see you all meeting in real person and having such a great time. Do you keep smelling each others arms to scent fragrances on each other ?

Actually we spent more time talking and hum, talking than we did sniffing. But yes random arm sniffing most certainly took place!! xxxx

Ah, you guys look like you had so much fun! I would love to meet everyone, including Isi (who also looks like he (or she?) is having a blast!

    • cookie queen says:

Always welcome Nemo! Isi is a male. Quite spoiled, and totally delightful. And in charge. He guards Vero with his very life, really. xxxx

Thanks Maya for dropping by. Glad you enjoyed them. Thank goodness for our phones these days huh? I would never carry a camera. xxx
