L’Occitane Collection de Grasse Discontinuations

Post by Portia

Hey Crew,

It’s a sad day when the discontinuations are whispered around the frag FB pages. Just this week I got word that the Collection de Grasse is going to have most of its fragrances cut and their body products. GAK! I loved this line so much and regularly spritz and use the shower gels. I even went to the Australian L’Occitane website to panic buy and a couple of the things I love are already gone. It means In Store Shopping required.

L’Occitane Collection de Grasse

I don’t have supported evidence but word on the FB pages cites rising costs, drop in sales volumes and some other things I don’t remember. I get it, you’re a business. Still I’m a little sad. Ambre & Santal, Vanille & Narcisse, Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc and most of the rest are on the chopping block. Get in quick if any of these are favourites.

Vanille & Narcisse gone

One bright light is that one of my favourites is staying: Neroli & Orchidee is keeping its place in stores and I have bought a back up of the fragrance and two of the shower gel. That should see me alright. Also Green Tea & Bigarde and Jasmin & Bergamot are staying, so if these are your Go-To fragrances then you are safe.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but there is also good news. I am reliably told that there are a slew of fabulous new fragrances coming through for Christmas 2016. Looking forward to that.

What is your favouritre L’Occitane?

Thanks for that information Portia. I have Vanille & Narcisse and Ambre & Santal and love them both. I have had Vanille for two years and only used 20ml or thereabouts as it is quite strong and I only need two sprays to last all day.

      You’re welcome Virginia,
How lucky you are. My skin eats it up in around 4-6 hours, lucky I love to respritz.

Noooooo.. Ambre & Santal was my fav. I dropped my bottle on the bathroom floor and smashed it, haven’t bought a replacement but I am now panicking! Will drop by in store asap!

I saw some people were finding a couple in TJ Maxx’s already. It’s a shame though, they haven’t been out *that* long have they? Neroli & Orchidee is beautiful though, I’m not surprised it made the cut!

      Hey Sun Mi,
I think they first appeared around 2012/3. That’s long enough to know if they are working financially.
What a shame, I really liked them,

When the collection first came out I liked Jasmine & Bergamot most of all and now I have only Magnolia & Mure on my shelves. It’s a pity for some of the scents, really.

Ahh, see Neva. If you didn’t buy then the other perfumistas probably didn’t too.

Eau des Baux has always been my favorite, luckily they must still make money on that one. I also loved Vineyard Rose (floral=very out of character for me), but only got it in shea butter on clearance before I realized I loved it.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

Did you know JulieF that Eau des Baux is Brad Pitt’s choice too?

No, I didn’t know that. Well, he probably smells good, but I’m afraid I’m immune to his charms. Donald Sutherland is more my speed. Wonder what he smells like.

Ha! Well, we’ll never fight over a man…
DS probably smells of something very elegant, hard to find and expensive like Maai by Bogue or On The Road by Timothy Han

My favorite is Jasmin and Bergamote, fortunately, but I may still stock up just in case. It really is my go-to summer fragrance.
