Hi APJ,

I see these SOTD (Scent Of The Day) threads all the time on Facebook and they are really good conversation generators.

SOTD 4 – 10 December 2017

The idea is you’ll chime in through the week with whatever scent you are wearing. You don’t need to be super knowledgable, have high faluting tastes or be a published author to comment. Just tell us what fragrance you’re wearing, smelling, buying etc.

You probably won’t have time to write every scent, every spritz but whenever you feel the mood take you share your current spritz and a few things about it. Maybe you love/loathe it, want it, are excited by the notes/bottle/SA who sold it: WHATEVER! As always here at APJ, taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.

Hopefully you will come back and see if anyone has responded to your comment and you can reply to them.

Over 100 responses I will draw a Scent Sample Pack (from my collection)
This week:

  1. Divine EdP
  2. Rouge Hermès
  3. Goldfield & Banks Wood Infusion
  4. Aedes de Venustas Palissandre d’Or
  5. Vintage CHANEL No 22 EdC

Comment purposefully on yours or anothers comment & you’ll have a chance, random.org will draw on Sunday.

LAST WEEKS WINNER: MmkInPA

Go To It Crew.

I needed something cheerful this AM, so wearing Eau My Soul from 4160 Tuesday

  2. MmkInPA says:

Dame Earth Mother with a few drops of the hair oil. I didn’t put the correct starting row number into random.org so this sample came up instead of a bottle, but I’m happy it is today’s selection. Not usually my thing due to the patch but the blend is lovely.

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

I think I like Earth Mother better in the hair oil version (which I use as a body oil) than in the EDP. And congrats on your draw win 🙂

      • SonomaVelvet says:

I now have a fairly generous stash of samples of Earth Mother due to my recent little Dame Perfumery buying spree, I think I may try that one out post bath today.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      A perfect mistake then MmkinPA?

  3. Jackie b says:

There was a smidge left in my Roja Dove Amber Aoud sample, I tipped it all on myself and smelled like a millionaire all day.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

WOW JackieB! I love tipping whole vials on myself and luxuriating in the HUGEST possible scent fog.
      Portia xx

  4. Chocolate Marzipan says:

Vintage eau de Givenchy in a cute little mini bottle.

  5. Gina says:

    Mugler’s A*men on me today.

  6. australianperfumejunkies says:

Parfumerie General Suede Osmanthe. If only I could be a one scent man, this would definitely be in the running.

  7. VerbenaLuvvr says:

My SOTD is Commodity Tea. I just didn’t know what to wear today, it is snowing here and somewhat depressing, but this one makes me feel business-like and ready to attack work at the office. Hoping that Jin is feeling better!

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      Never heard of it Verbenaluvvr,
      Tell me about it please?
      Portia xx

      • VerbenaLuvvr says:

Fragrantica says (and I agree): Tea by Commodity is a Aromatic fragrance for women. “Tea was launched in 2013. The nose behind this fragrance is Donna Ramanauskas. Top notes are citruses, sicilian lemon and bergamot; middle notes are freesia, lily-of-the-valley and jasmine sambac; base notes are sandalwood and white musk.” A black ranther than green tea experience. I like this for summer or days when my blood pressure is high! 🙂

  8. shiva-Woman says:

I just got back from a gala weekend in Berkeley with Mandy Aftelier– went to the museum Saturday and then shopped in-house for her scents (she had an open house with detectables including her food sprays and salts too). I’m going with her Cocoa edp today. Yes, it’s gourmand, but also deep, woody and sexy. Tonight I might switch to her Velvet Tuberose (Amazzzzzing). Thank thou for the giveaway. I follow by email.

  9. maggiecat says:

It’s warmish and humid ahead of a massive cold front today in Dallas, so I’m enjoying Marguerite, a fresh green floral from Bourbon French Perfumes in New Orleans. I love the scent and the shower gel is to die for!

  10. fanny says:

    Versace, Gianni Versace (discontinued).
    DIVINE!… (Boohoo…)

  11. Ceil says:

Today I went with the original Delices de Cartier. The current version is very different.

  12. SonomaVelvet says:

I had a highway drive this morning so spritzed myself with SSS Yin and Ylang for the drive. I so so love this one, I blind bought only 15ml and had a friend (perfume mule) bring it to me without sampling it first because it’s so hard to get stuff from her to me. I’m glad I didn’t just sample it, and wish I had a bigger bottle of it. Oh well, I’ll enjoy my 15ml for now. There has to be someone going to the states eventually…. and then, there will be More!!!

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

Anything Laurie makes is worthy of blind buying in my humble opinion. There is not one SSS scent I have “met” that I did not like or adore.

      • MmkInPA says:

Ditto. There are some that I don’t wear because they don’t “fit” but I find that her style is distinctive and if it works for you, most of her perfumes are hits!

  13. Melanie says:

Today is Serge Lutens Daim Blond. A little package arrived from Scent Samples, a lovely site in AUS that does decants. I have three other Lutens to try, and some other treats. Balmain Ambre Gris was the other stand out from first round of sniffing!

Chocolate Marizpan i thought of you this morning, as i dropped my little sample on the bathroom floor and quickly tried to mop it up with my wrists – similar to your Fendi accident 🙂

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

Oh no!!! well, at least you had amazing smelling wrists all day 🙂

      • Melanie says:

And then later in the day Chocolate Marzipan i had the little bottle out to add a splash while i was in the car – the spray wasn’t working properly so i took the top off and promptly dropped it! so there i am driving and holding this tiny bottle of precious perfume inside not wanting to lose it. Once i had the car parked i could get the top from under the seat. I’m such a drama some days!

      • Chocolate Marzipan says:

LOL! The things we do for the love of perfume!

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      DAIM BLOND! Very nice choice.
Ambre Gris is another wonder, I like it a lot. Can’t remember who wrote it but there was an interesting article about the perfumistas love for that one. Great story.
      Portia xx

  14. Kandice says:

I’m embarrassed to say I have never tried Angel or Alien by TM, so I rectified that over the last few days. Yesterday was Alien and today Angel. While I can appreciate that Angel is a classic and changed the course of perfume, it was too heavy for me and gave me a splitting headache. I liked the floral Alien much better. It too has a note than can trigger headaches for me, but it skirted just shy of that. However would I spend the money for a FB? I doubt it. There are other scents I like much better. So I don’t know whether I get to keep my perfumista badge for having tried them or have to give it up for having such lackluster feelings about them. At least now though I have a frame of reference when I read about them.

    • Melanie says:

Kandice, don’t be embarrassed. Keep your badge – you cant like everything! At least you had a go!
I don’t wear either but when ever i smell Angel it reminds me of a friend who used to smash this scent in times past.

      • Kandice says:

Thanks Melanie! I know someone who wears Angel too, and it smells great on her. I guess if everyone wore the same thing, the world of perfume would be rather boring 🙂

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

Keep your badge…I agree with Melanie…you can’t like everything and sometimes our skin and nasal perceptions are different from other folks. I have had similar experiences where a certain fragrance smells divine on another Chocolate Marzipan member but just not the same on me. Plenty of other wonderful perfumes out there!!!

      • SonomaVelvet says:

Confession? er I haven’t gotten around to smelling ANY Mugler either hehe. So many perfumes…

    • MmkInPA says:

I detest Angel but can appreciate its genius. J like Alien and can wear it if I spray very lightly.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

HA! You tried them, good enough for me.
Pretending to like them might have ended in a badge rescind but not liking something, you’re saved a couple of bottle buys. It’s a win.
      Portia xx

  15. SunnyDay says:

Today I’m in Gaiac 10 from a decant. Unfortunately I’m really falling for it. I would love to hear suggestions for other fragrances that are similar to this?

  16. Greg says:

Late to the party, as always.

Monday I went to rock concert, so I felt like a bit of leather. I went for Tuscan Leather.

Today I’m wearing Green Irish Tweed.

  17. australianperfumejunkies says:

Palissandre d`Or by Aedes de Venus’s. A very well mannered wood, comfortable and clean.
    Portia xx

  18. Saffyishere says:

Yesterday, Monday I wore Winter Delice to assist a friend decorate her Bed and Breakfast here in Ballarat.
Today, on Tuesday ,nothing, due to a migraine.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      Poor Saffyishere,
I hope the migraine has gone. When I get sinusitis and a migraine the tears pop out of my eyes like squirters.
      Portia xx

  19. Melanie says:

Trying some more of my samples tonight – got Marc jacobs decadence on one arm & Miss Dior on the other. Miss Dior is amazing with a capital A. Obviously a late comer to such treasures – what else have I been missing?

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      Hey Melanie,
Get your sniff on some Bal a Versailles and some Madame Rochas. They will widen your eyes a bit too.
      Portia xx

  20. Chocolate Marzipan says:

Pairing (as recommended on the Jo malone website) Peony Blush & Suede and Pomegranate Noire and so far so good. Has anyone tried the Ginger Biscuit? It smells freakin’ amazing on my middle Marzipan..tomorrow is her 18th birthday but I gifted her the bottle ahead of time and she loves it. Highly recommend it if you are into gourmands and vanilla….ginger and hazelnut,I believe, are also in the notes.

    • Kandice says:

This sounds wonderful! I will have to search it out next time I’m near Neiman’s. I love the smell of ginger and am always interested in trying a vanilla perfume.

      • Chocolate Marzipan says:

It’s a limited edition (in fact it was sold out when it first came out I believe around five years ago, then the London store carried it exclusively every Christmas and this is the first year they are selling it in the States for the holidays)

  21. Jackie b says:

I wore Jo Malone today too, Rosewater and Vanilla. Only a decant but it is more potent than most JM so it is enough for now

  22. Anna Maria says:

Today Rosa Nobile Body lotion and Vintage Miss Dior, they were beautiful together.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      Woo Hoo!
I almost bought you a Rose Nobile gift set today but I already have your Xmas present.
      You smell fabulous.
      Portia xx

  23. fanny says:

    Cuir Mauresque by Lutens. Gorgeous!

  24. Kandice says:

Trying a sample of Gabrielle by Chanel today. Not impressed. Rather meh on me. Seem to be striking out with fragrances this week.

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

If I see it in the wild I will give it some skin time but I won’t be actively seeking it out.

    • SonomaVelvet says:

I tried it. It was pretty enough, just fine but I was craving more of something, anything somehow. The desire to put something else on when I’m wearing a perfume is not a good sign for me, I don’t want to use the word ‘b….g’ but I guess that’s how I experienced it.

      • Kandice says:

That’s exactly how I felt! On me it faded quickly so I promptly layered something else over it. It just doesn’t have much depth to it at all and like you said, something was definitely missing!

  25. SonomaVelvet says:

I’m in just a little spritz of Chanel’s Beige today. I have about 10mls left but I think they must have really concentrated somehow because, wow, this baby is just totally BLASTING. I’m sure it didn’t blast like this when I first got it. Wow, not sure I like it anymore. Something sharp seems to be exaggerated in it. hmmmm anyone else notice quite a resemblance between Beige and Hermes Jour d’Hermes?

  26. Maya says:

L`Artisan L’Eau du Navigateur for last night and David Jourquin Cuir Altesse for today. Both gorgeous!

  27. Greg says:

You’re in Ballarat Saffy? My son lives there, in Soldiers Hill.

  28. Greg says:

Today I’m wearing Prada Infusion de Vetiver, the pre-2015 version. It has a nice peppery waft to it, very good for what was an airport lounge cheapie.

  29. MmkInPA says:

Today Vanilla Flash by Tauerville. And this evening I’m going to try several DSH samples from the holiday sampler that just arrived. Will share any special finds!!

    • Kandice says:

Can’t wait to hear! I just ordered some samples from her, two of which were past holiday scents.

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

What did you think of Vanilla Flash? I haven’t tried any from the Flash series yet. and also looking forward to your thoughts on the holiday sampler. I think Dawn is an amazing perfumer.

      • MmkInPA says:

Vanilla Flash- I have a small rollerball. Like the vanilla, dry not sweet. I don’t really get the rose that many others smell. Mostly vanilla and tobacco.

  30. crikey says:

Beaufort’s Coeur de Noire and a hopeless bad mood on Sunday, for a six hour train journey, and then some concerted moping. Loved its inky leathery darkness on first wear, when I was feeling ready to kick over the world. Hated it when I was soggy and glum. It smelled flat and peppery. (I have maybe one more wear left in this sample. I will have to pick my day carefully.)

Papillon’s Dryad on Monday, for a day I changed my mind, and remembered what I cared about. (There is a bottle of this in my future, I am sure of it now. It’s bloody lovely.)

Lutens’ Bapteme du Feu today (with an atmospheric side helping of old leather, vanillin-alike old paper, and pencils) for a blissful afternoon in Rare Books room in the British Library working with a mid-19th century photographic album.

tomorrow: who knows, but I might take an adventuresome side trip to Bloom to have a little sniff of a few things that have been making me curious…I’m so rarely in London, it seems daft to not steal away half an hour to play.

    • Greg says:

The Papillon range seems so good and yet so hard to get. Why can’t they sell in Australia?

      • crikey says:

It’s maddening when that happens! Even with a willing mule it’s tricky, as there’s the temptation to risk a blind buy…

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

Glad the glum has gone Crikey.
Have fun at BLOOM, lease tell them I say HI.
      Portia xx

      • crikey says:

I wish I’d seen this before I went in. I had a lovely time and smelled some gorgeousness, and was super-well looked after. And… Signed up for the omg yes please new “nose club” with a whacking great discount. Yay! 12 10ml decants coming my way in the next six months. Deeeeeelish.

  31. Melanie says:

Some more Serge Lutens today – doing Ambre Sultan and i love it. Its hanging around a bit more than Daim Blond. Got some Arabie & Datura Noir to give a spin too.

  32. VerbenaLuvvr says:

My partner was in the hospital today for a surgery, so I wore DSH Little Smile to keep my spirits up. He is fine and came home tonight.

  33. Jackie b says:

Today was a liberal spray of Jicky, I love it but want it to last longer. Hmph.

  34. Chocolate Marzipan says:

A few stolen spritzes of Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit in honor of St; Nicolas day and my middle one’s bday today (the bottle was her birthday gift from me 🙂 )

  35. MmkInPA says:

SOTD is DSH Chataignes du Bois from a rollerball I won in a draw on cafleurebon. I don’t think I have smelled chestnut in a perfume before so this is very unique for me. Some maple syrup sweetness and some smokiness. Definitely fits the holiday collection!

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

Wow that sounds really good! I am going to have to do some research on what other fragrances have chestnut in them….now I am curious!

      • Chocolate Marzipan says:

REplica’s By the Fireplace was the first perfume that popped up on fragrantica when I googled “chestnut notes” and I happen to really like that one. Scored a large sample at Sephora and drained it quite rapidly.

  36. fanny says:

Amouage Epic, just the bodylotion, which is so much better than the perfume. (IMO)

    • SonomaVelvet says:

Really? I love Epic so much but I’ve never tried the body lotion. Must do that sometime if it’s even better.

  37. australianperfumejunkies says:

    Original Lolita Lempicka EdP.
    Sweet liquorice cotton candy.

    • Melanie says:

Portia – you smell wicked! I love this scent – i’ve have a bottle but haven’t worn it for ages so i’m bringing the bottle to the front and its gonna get a spin on the weekend!

    • MmkInPA says:

One of my first online blind buys. I have to spray lightly though!

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

I never gave much thought to licorice as a note until I discovered 1000 Flowers Reglisse Noire…one of my top ten fragrances…any one familiar with that one? Believe it or not, Portia, I have yet to smell LL, but I know it gets lots of love and the bottles are adorable…next time I am in a dept store that carries it I will give it a spritz.

    • crikey says:

yum yum! one of those edible/poisonous conundrums that are so much fun to wear.

  38. SonomaVelvet says:

Funny Portia, I was eyeballing my little bottle of Lolita Lempicka this morning today but went right past it instead to Patricia de Nicolai’s Le Temps d’une Fete. Oh, I love this one so much. There are very few perfumes I’ve purchased more than one full bottle of but this is one. I only have about 40 precious mls left and then won’t be able to get any more boohoo. I don’t understand the discontinuation as it’s just so pretty. I have found a similarity in Maison Margiela’s Promenade in the Garden thank goodness. It’s not a doppelgänger by any means but there is a similarity. I enjoy that one quite a lot too.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      Hey SonomaVelvet,
I have an older bottle of Le Temps d’une Fete. Though it’s starting to age I still love it, the few wears it gets each year.
      Portia xx

  39. Kandice says:

Wearing Carnal Flower today. Decided to wear something I love instead of taking a chance on an unknown. It’s a good antidote to the cold, dreary weather we’re having where I live.

  40. VerbenaLuvvr says:

Today it is Olibere “Savannah’s Heart”, my first experience with this house. I also ordered the sample library and will be giving those a go later this week. Unfortunately, Escapade a Byzance was missing from the sample pack (thank you Customs?!) which was the one I was most looking forward to trying. 🙁

  41. Melanie says:

Balmains Ambre Gris today – wearing it properly not just a couple of sprays to test! I really really like it. Sample almost gone – this one a definite reorder but probably a bottle buy.
Its fitting the rather overcast and cool day today we’ve got here.

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

have been curious about AG for a while as the bottle intrigues me and it sells for a song at online discounters…

      • Melanie says:

its not super powerful Chocolate Marzipan so could also work as good base. Its . not on super special here in oz so might have to get another sample before i commit to a big bottle.
I’ll wear the little bit i have left over the weekend and see if i can describe it to you. It doesnt project much (think that is the word) i got some wafts now and then hence the reapplying.!
Also, thanks so much for your thoughts on Dame – my Black Flower roll on arrived with about six other samples so i’m having a great time!

      • Chocolate Marzipan says:

Thanks Melanie for your input…it is extraordinarily cheap so if I ever get around to any online ordering I could always add a bottle in to qualify for free shipping…but right now I am not looking to make any fragrant purchases.

  42. crikey says:

Cuir venenum on my left arm ; aeon 001 on my right.

CV amused me hugely, as it’s so unlike anything I normally wear. It’s the sweetness. It felt like eating grape chewits, and spilling tropical coconutty suntan lotion on a warm plastic dress. But there’s a layer of soft leather under there too. Not one to go back to, but fun.

Aeon is just swoonsomely lovely. And a real surprise. I expected it to be all vetiver, all the time. Snagged a sample, so I’ll get to give this a proper wear. Yay!

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      OMG Crikey,
What a pair of frags you have on today.
aeon 001 is remarkable. Such a freaky fabulous wear.
      Portia xx

  43. Chocolate Marzipan says:

Berdoues Grand Cru Arz el Rab…ginger, iris and cedarwood…for some odd reason it smells like a woody gourmand on my skin but I think it presents as dryer on others’ skin….nevertheless, I really like it!

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

OMG!!! that would be “drier” NOT “dryer” (we are , after all, not talking laundry here!)..this is what happens when I comment at 4 in the morning without my first cup of tea 🙂

  44. SunnyDay says:

I realized that I hadn’t applied perfume in more than 15 hours which almost never happens! I had a sample of Pryn Parfum, Le Mimosa so went with that.

  45. MmkInPA says:

I just received a holiday sampler from DSH. Today is Dark Moon. Opens with this amazing dark chocolate note. Spicy resins and woods. The drydown shares some DNA with Stash; not sure if I would get a bottle (already have that one) but maybe a rollerball or travel spray just for the opening!

  46. fanny says:

Lui by Guerlain – first try from (big) sample.
Soft, velvety, warm and a bit sweet.
Reminds me a bit of Cuir Velours by Goodsir, but Lui is more restrained and refined.
I like it very much, but I’m not sure if I would pay te price tag.

    • crikey says:

I just sniffed Cuirs Velours yesterday for the first time… it’s lovely! (possibly a touch sweet for me, but I didn’t try it on skin. I should, right?) I’ve not see Lui anywhere.

      • shiva-Woman says:

I debated purchasing this. Luckyscent had 20% off a while ago. It gets really mixed reviews, but the notes are right up there for me. I love imortelle.
shiva-Woman recently posted…Vintage CHANEL No 22 EdC + GIVEAWAYMy Profile

      • fanny says:

I had the same reaction: this is lovely!, when I tried my decant of Cuir Velours. I went right ahead and bought a bottle online, which was too hasty. Quickly it became too sweet for me, or what I call ‘too easy’… I gave my bottle away to a dear friend who dotes on it. Do try on skin first, indeed. 😀

I found a new large sample (3,8 ml) of Lui on the net. I think it is more sophisticated (the opening is wonderful), but the strength and longevity should be of much better quality.

      • crikey says:

Good reminder, fanny, to not leap at first sniff! (I am frequently too hasty, or enthusiastic.) My skin does weird things with sweetness: sometimes it flattens and almost hides it, sometimes it makes amplifies the sweets to the point of drowning in a vat of syrup.

  47. crikey says:

Arquiste Architects Club. I usually avoid vanilla-based fragrances (with an honourable exception for the classic Guerlains) so decided to try to branch out a bit. Hence this decant. It’s a lot airier than I thought vanillas could be. Not a sticky cake.

  48. shiva-Woman says:

SOLastNight was Alahine, both juice and solid compact which I smoothed onto my hands to drift off to sleep. Today is (again) Mandy Aftelier’s Palimpsest–gorgeous peachy-osthmanthus floral with depth. It reminds me a bit of a lighter, less boozy Slumberhouse Kiste. I’m lovin’ MA’s creations. I think in a couple months I’ll be saving for a large hit of the extrait–goes on long and lovely.

I think it might be fun to spend some time checking out your perfume closet, it sounds like you have some gorgeous things to smell.

ALAHINE!! I need to pull mine out from the cupboard and wear it. Thanks for the reminder Shive-wioman.

  49. Tiffanie says:

hey-ho, AJP, I’m wearing L’Artisan Parfumeur L’eau du Caporal. It’s quite nice on this cold, windy, and very dry day. The humidity is so low my perfume disappears in minutes, so I just keep spritzing.

  50. SonomaVelvet says:

Tom Ford Violet Blonde today. I really like this one but keep forgetting. Not sure why, my hand just passes over that bottle, but when I do put it on, I’m so pleased. For a while I thought I didn’t like Iris but it’s slowly won me over. I don’t see a desire to dive in a vat of Iris Silver Mist any time soon but this one, and Iris Poudre have captivated me.

  51. VerbenaLuvvr says:

Today it is Viktoria Minya “Eau de Hongrie”, a beautiful honey scent.

  52. Melanie says:

Today is Dame Dark Horse – one of the many lovely samples they provided in my purchase of Black Flower Mexican Vanilla. Cant wait to try the others – insert “happy dance”!!!

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

YUM! Dark Horse is amazing! Don’t let the name fool you…definitely unisex…in fact I would say the entire line is pretty much unisex ….even some of the soliflores which my 80 year old dad wears…like Osmanthus…and I LOVE Citrus Man, Herb Man and Leather Man on myself….

  53. australianperfumejunkies says:

Neela Vermeire Creations Pichola. Perfect warm weather fare.

  54. Greg says:

Today I’m wearing my prize decant of Figment Man, with thanks to Portia and APJ. When I first sprayed it I got an immediate reminder of Pine-o-Cleen, and I just could not get that out of my head. It’s strange, because pine is not one of the notes. That disinfectant smell (to my nose) stuck around for hours but it has gone now, and Figment has matured into a woody, earthy vibe that is much better. Lasts like a Kenyan marathon runner and projects like a Shakespearian actor.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

HA! Poor Greg, I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the intention but did you feel cleaner for it?
      Portia x

  55. Chocolate Marzipan says:

Testing DSH Chataignes du Bois…as a person with an insatiable sweet tooth this is really fitting the bill and I am liking it….smelling lots of immortelle which is a note and an essential oil I am familiar with and really like.

    Happy Friday, APJers!

Sampling Byredo Velvet Haze. Not really my style, but sprayed lightly it’s not killing me with the patch.

  57. fanny says:

Today it is Santal Royal from a sample. Divine!

  58. VerbenaLuvvr says:

Today I had to get up early, so I put on DSH Refresh–a stunning jolt of fresh greens and mint. My eyes are wide open now!

    • SonomaVelvet says:

that sounds very interesting. I know I need to try some DSH, just the few times I went to her site to check them out I became so overwhelmed. Hard to know where to start.

      • MmkInPA says:

It’s a challenge! I just ordered a holiday sampler pack; another time during the year I think I would have picked a favorite category.

  59. SonomaVelvet says:

A little bit of Noir Spice goes a long way. I put some on earlier and I thinking it’s filling the whole house. mmmmmm

    • SonomaVelvet says:

oh dear, good old spell checker running amok… haha. I tried to type Noir Epice but dear old checker ‘fixed’ it before I noticed.

  60. Kandice says:

Wearing my new love Cafe Tuberosa today. Mmmm. So good!

  61. Chocolate Marzipan says:

SSS Bee’s Bliss. Now that I have tried it I am going to save my decant for the summer…in my mind this is a beautiful warm weather scent.

  62. crikey says:

Today I will be mostly be scented with Feliway and Dreamies.

  63. SonomaVelvet says:

Getting down to the last 20 mls of my second bottle of Serge Luten’s Un Lys, and I know it will be difficult if not impossible to replace. Indulging in a few precious spritz’s today. Bliss!

  64. fanny says:

Vintage Panthère by Cartier – Toilette de Parfum. So happy to have a bottle of this!

  65. MmkInPA says:

Feeling like roses today so SSS Rose Volupte. Then, as I was putting my watch on my arms/wrists were dry so I added some DSH Tunisian Amber lotion on top. Turned out to be a lovely combo.

  66. Greg says:

So on Saturday I tried the other Amouage decant that I won here: Figment Woman. This is actually very different to Figment Man; it’s not even in the same ballpark as a scent, so I’m not sure why they are branded together. Man is a big, powerful green and earthy scent, whereas this is a white floral. The opening was full-on gardenia and way too much for me. Even my wife, who wears white florals happily, had an instant aversion when she smelled it. Not for me, or her, I’m afraid.

  67. SonomaVelvet says:

MMMmmmm Serge Lutens Chergui today, but reading Greg’s comment makes me want to run and try Figment again. Maybe tomorrow.

  68. fanny says:

When I got up I sprayed a good dose of Ombre Mercure. After bath it was time for Baccarat Rouge 540. (They mix well btw, I had a spray of the Baccarat right before bath 😉 ).
