Hi APJ,

I see these SOTD (Scent Of The Day) threads all the time on Facebook and they are really good conversation generators.

SOTD 11 – 17 December 2017

The idea is you’ll chime in through the week with whatever scent you are wearing. You don’t need to be super knowledgable, have high faluting tastes or be a published author to comment. Just tell us what fragrance you’re wearing, smelling, buying etc.

You probably won’t have time to write every scent, every spritz but whenever you feel the mood take you share your current spritz and a few things about it. Maybe you love/loathe it, want it, are excited by the notes/bottle/SA who sold it: WHATEVER! As always here at APJ, taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.

Hopefully you will come back and see if anyone has responded to your comment and you can reply to them.

Over 100 responses I will draw a Scent Sample Pack (from my collection)

This week:

  1. Neela Vermeire Creations Pichola
  2. Hermès Monsieur Li
  3. Bogue Gardelia
  4. Guerlain Meteorites
  5. Vintage Bal a Versailles EdT

Comment purposefully on yours or anothers comment & you’ll have a chance, random.org will draw on Sunday.

LAST WEEKS WINNER: JackieB

Trouble for this manic Monday 🙂

  2. australianperfumejunkies says:

SHALIMAR! Oodles and oodles of Shalimar EdP and vintage parfum. I smell Ah May Zing in this fuggy humid heat.

    • shiva-Woman says:

I cannot do Shalimar in heat–only on the crisp fall days, snowy winter ones, and rainy-day spring days. I love it though and have a sticky thick vintage from 1960–Heaven.

    • SonomaVelvet says:

oooh, I love Shalimar. Often in my bath, and often my bedtime comfort scent. What’s interesting is it took me literally years to learn to love it. So many times I would try it when browsing and just couldn’t bear the opening. Not sure why I kept trying but I did and one day…. Wow!!

      • Jackie b says:

That is EXACTLY what happened with me! Now it is ultimate comfort scent and touch of luxury. Have you tried the body cream?

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

I wore Shalimar in the 70s….the mother of my childhood best friend of 50 years received a bottle of Shalimar as a gift, never wore it and gifted it to me as she knew I loved perfume. I need to get my nose on some again. How does current formulation compare to vintage?

      • australianperfumejunkies says:

If you haven’t smelled it in a while you will only notice how clean it smells compared to the past. Still excellent. If you remember the past well then go for the EdC, it has the best old school smell to my nose CM.
        Portia xx

  3. Jackie b says:

Thank you Portia you have made my day!
Today as soon as I got up, in the heatwave, I doused myself in Shalimar Cologne and felt instantly better.

  4. MmkInPA says:

Alahine! It’s going to be chilly and snowing (and super busy) here this week so I think I’m going to do an ambery week.

  5. fanny says:

Memoir Woman, perfect in the snow!

  6. Gina says:

Today is Patou Eau de Joy.

  7. AnnieA says:

Chanel Beige for the countdown to the holidays.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

CHANEL does excitement scents so well, even the packaging adds a luxurious expectant air. As if something fabulous is about to happen AnnieA.
      Portia xx

  8. Laura Keller says:

This winter morning, nothing but vintage Madame Rochas (parfum with some spritzes of pdt for sillage) would do.

  9. Kandice says:

Trying DSH Fleurs de Soleil today. It’s a pretty scent but it disappeared very quickly on my skin. Yesterday I tried DSH Vanilla Bourbon Intense. Didn’t get the Bourbon at all but got a nice vanilla incense, in fact more incense than vanilla. It was a past holiday scent and seems just perfect for that.

  10. shiva-Woman says:

Today I’m wearing smokey coffee-chocolate goodness in “Private Eye” by Solstice Scents. It deepeens into an amber faintly floral wood.

  11. Ceil says:

Tom Ford Tobacco vanille for me today… supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow tonight.

  12. SonomaVelvet says:

Patricia de Nicolai Vanille Tonka today. This is so good, and quite strong, doesn’t take much and it wafts around me for at least 8 or 9 hours. So much so, I have to be careful when I’m going to being working close to people. Love it, and happily, even though I only have a bit left in my first bottle she’s still making this one, so I’ll be able to get more.

  13. SonomaVelvet says:

Yesterday, late in the day I retried Figment Woman, inspired by Greg’s trials. I remembered why I had put it in the ‘not for me’ pile. I don’t find white flowers to be the main quality for me, I could only wish. There is something cool and sweet and fruity (fig?) in the beginning with the flowers, I don’t read as flowers really, just a kind of plushness with lots of white musk. As it fades it reminds me of MDCI Nuit de Andalouse and Histoire’s 1969. Not that they smell the same, just the way the musk makes the scent plush or pillowy. As it fades more, all I get is monstrous amounts of that musk, very like Narciso in the square pink bottle. Not for me.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

What a shame SonomaVelvet. That NR musk is heavenly for me. I rarely wear it but LOVE smelling people in the street in it.
      Portia xx

      • SonomaVelvet says:

You know Portia, I actually like it too. I like it on others and I like it at first on me, but it really lasts for quite a long time on me, and I don’t know if it’s some kind of olfactory illusion or something but it seems to get bigger and bigger and after awhile I’m just done with it but it’s not done with me. If only jasmine and orange blossom would do that to me haha

  14. Jane Elisabeth says:

Its code red here in the Netherlands because of the snow. Elixir des Merveilles is warm and cozy!

  15. SunnyDay says:

Today I’m in TF Fleur de Portofino for this warm breezy morning.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

I saw Fleur de Portofino on sale at the Estee Lauder Sale store last week. Should I have bought it SunnyDay?
      Portia xx

  16. cassieflower says:

Truth or Dare Naked again. Nice and warm and snuggly for the cold frosty weather with about 6 inches of snow. Brrrrrr.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

You’ll never go wrong in my books with Truth or Dare Naked CassieFlower. Excellent scent and a bargain when it was available.
      Portia xx

  17. Maya says:

Having a bit of a problem with my knee, so spraying it (and elsewhere) with French Bourbon Voodoo Love. With a name like that there must be some good magic! 🙂 😉

  18. Bec says:

It is shaping up to be a very hot week here in Sydney, but I am stuck at work , so I am thinking Lys Méditerranée so i can at least imagine I am by the sea.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      Lovely choice Bec,
I have a 10ml of Lys Méditerranée but never seem to think of using it. Thanks for the reminder.
      Portia xx

  19. crikey says:

Minus six degrees, with a hard frost but no snow….a hefty dose of Chergui to keep me warm. It’s interesting how different it can be with more or less generous spritzings.

(Hmm, actually with my big fuzzy fake leopard coat it should be Mitzah!)

  20. Ingrid says:

As it’s getting hot here in Queensland I favor light and fresh fragrances. Today it’s vintage Jil Sander Bath & Beauty (in the white square bottle).

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

I never smelled this Ingrid, Jill Sander does solid frags though. I particularly like the Sun range.
      Portia xx

  21. Ingeborg says:

Nothing very fancy today, Prada Candy. The original has that hint of burnt caramel which I enjoy. It is one of the few really sweet perfumes I own. Will re-spritz a third time now before bed, so calming.

  22. Melanie says:

I’ve got a day off so after getting to the post office and finding two perfume packages for me I am super happy. Wearing four things at once because I have no patience!
Tom Ford oud Wood – very soft on me, I’m almost thinking water/marine, might need a more on. worthy of a top up.
Tom Ford tobacco vanille – liking it better three hours after first spray. First thought was no but it’s more chocolate now. Have a dear very charming male friend who it might suit better!
Juliette has a gun anyway – it’s ok but it’s bit floral for me, musky violets? Thought I’d picked her midnight oud one – that’s what happens when you in a hurry.
And lucky last, montale vanille absolu which is awesome! Fantastic replacement for Tokyo milk Bittersweet which is discontinued. Chocolate, vanilla and little spicy as it wears on. Love love love.
Now, I told myself I couldn’t play with my perfumes again until I have finished some stuff at home. I’m about to melt dark chocolate and dip pretzels for my nieces and nephews for treat later today. Then red velvet cupcakes, oh and boring old washing!
Love reading how different the weather is around our world. Wish it was snowing here – we are about to get roasted for next few days.

    • Melanie says:

      Sorry for super long post

      • Kandice says:

Melanie, I loved your post and will have to try the Montale based on your description. Sounds like it’s right up my alley.

      • Chocolate Marzipan says:

Love the long post as well….will send you some snow as I prefer the heat 🙂

Those chocolate covered pretzels sound delicious as does the Montale!

    • Jyotsna says:

Love the post. Although, I totally read it as a dark chocolate and pretzel *scent* at first. Yummy. I’ll have what she’s having!

    • Saffyishere says:

Stay cool, Melanie. Those pretzels sound yummy.
I’m so glad my husband convinced me earlier in the year to get air conditioning.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      Melanie,
Your post is EXACTL:Y what we hope for on APJ. This is a fragrant community, a family. We share our lives and our scents.
Great to read about you trying all the new stuff. Give Anyway a chance, it REALLY grows on you. Once I get it out and wear it it will stay on the desk for months. Thanks for the reminder.
      Portia x

  23. Fazal says:

My SOTD is Mugler Pure Wood which I just received today. Even if I have mixed opinion about it, I like the bottle, which as someone noticed, looks like Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy 🙂

  24. Maya says:

Fazal – you made me look up Mugler Pure Wood. LOL. The bottle reminds me of Groot too!

  25. Saffyishere says:

Monday was warm so I sprayed vintage Azuree. Tuesday warmer than Monday, however I combined Stash and Fancy, because I’d had compliments about it last weekend.

  26. Chocolate Marzipan says:

On a base of Australian sandalwood essential oil Berdoues Grand Cru Collection Assam of India….bought it for the elephants on the bottle but ended up falling in love with the scent…wore it for seven weeks in a row two summers ago!!!!!

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      WOW CM,
I was just up in Assam. what a deliriously beautiful place. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
      Portia xx

      • Chocolate Marzipan says:

You can pack my tiny little body in your suitcase and smuggle me in 🙂 I would love to go as well…visit a tea plantation!

  27. fanny says:

SL Ambre Sultan. The snow is melting. 😉

  28. VerbenaLuvvr says:

Cold weather where I live, time to break out the perfume oils.
Today it is Pumpkin Spice Latte by Solstice Scents. 🙂

  29. SonomaVelvet says:

Grey day here today. Overcast, not hot, not cold just sort of grey. Bringing sunshine in with Penhaligon’s Ostara. Bottled happiness to me

  30. MmkInPA says:

Day 2 of amber- Tauerville Amber Flash.

  31. crikey says:

Bundled up in CDG2 Man today. Worked well on a cold, damp day. It’s not a scent that often gets noticed by my colleagues, but two of them declared I smelled lovely today.

  32. Chocolate Marzipan says:

Rounding out my sandalwood fest tonight with SSS Champagne de Bois…my goodness, this stuff is good!

  33. Melanie says:

Rocking Dzing! today. Probably a strange choice for the heat we having but i’m in an air-conditioned office so think it will work. Too bad if not because i’ve sprayed heaps! This stuff is amazing. Its so me! Musk, leather, smoke. I also tried Timbuktu which needs another spin.

  34. Tiffanie says:

hi, APJers, I’m floating an inch off the ground on a cloud of Eau des Merveilles. Golly, I love this stuff but had not worn it for over a month. I’ve spritzed morning, noon, and night. Just can’t get enough.

Hope all have had a great Tuesday!

  35. Laura Keller says:

Today was my first day with my brand new Canadian lovely, Zoologist Camel. I quite like it and I hope everyone has had a magnificent Tuesday. =)

  36. Chocolate Marzipan says:

Villa of the Mysteries Carthago Delenda Est (calamus, fig, rose and resins…it is an unusual but interesting scent)

    • MmkInPA says:

Not familiar with this house, just looked it up. Do you like? Worth sampling at some point? You know I have a soft spot for indie!

      • Chocolate Marzipan says:

There is something odd about it ….maybe the calamus or maybe the fig? It is not your typical fig…it almost borders on that rotten fruit to my nose and it has sweetness (but then again lots of stuff turns very sweet on my skin). I was told, however, that I smell good so I guess it is agreeing with my skin chemistry. If you want to try some down the line just let me know.

      • Chocolate Marzipan says:

fragrantica classifies it as a fruity floral. Now that I have looked at the notes it might be the styrax I am smelling…I have had styrax in my essential oil collection a while back and it has that similar odd sweet vibe.

      • Chocolate Marzipan says:

and you know there is labdanum in the base which gives it an amber vibe to me (pair labdanum with vanilla for instant amber body oil) so I guess we are amber cousins 🙂

  37. MmkInPA says:

MPG Amber Precieux today for our very cold weather – yesterday’s snow is still on the ground.

  38. fanny says:

    Ombre Mercure, such an uplifter!

  39. australianperfumejunkies says:

DSH Perfumes Giverny In Bloom. Finished another 10ml bottle.
It’s so humid and hot here though that it burned off in about 1 hour and I’m left with only a whisper of it.

I think I’ll add Niki de Saint Phalle over the top….. AHHHHHH
    Portia x

  40. VerbenaLuvvr says:

Today I am in orange peel heaven, it is Nest Paradise

  41. Cassieflower says:

Miss Dior parfum. Just because. I smell fabulous, even if I do say so myself.

  42. SonomaVelvet says:

When I first tried Epic Woman I ran to the bathroom and scrubbed it off, and wondered why anyone would ever put that in a bottle and sell it :):) and yet, in a strange kind of horrid fascination I tried it several more times, mostly ending with washing off. Good thing Amouage gives generous samples because one day I tried it again and was entranced and fell in love and paid an exorbitant amount of money for a big bottle of it and it’s been one of my dear loves ever since. So today, I enjoy a fragrant ride of plush cinnamony sandalwoody goodness that morphs and changes, one minute sort of creamy, the next a little rosy, the next a hint of whatever it was that made me run screaming the first few times ?oud, something a little bitter/sour that to me now makes the whole thing fascinating. Makes me wonder if we need a little winter to not take summer for granted and vice versa, or a little dark so that we continue to perceive the light by it’s contrast, to act like a frame in a way.

  43. Chocolate Marzipan says:

Winding down the evening with SSS Winter Woods…nothing smoky about this one…just rich vanilla-ish amber on my skin…love it!

  44. Melanie says:

Mancera Rose Vanille today – dont know much about this house but i picked out some samples in last STC order to fill up the parcel. I did try Indian Dream and Blue notes oud first – one per arm while getting ready this morning. Something made me try one more and Rose Vanille it was!
This is warm, vanilla, musk, soft rose. Chocolate? Sugar? its sweet up close and i can get the rose but wafting around me is creamy vanilla and musk. Very glad i picked this one.

  45. Saffyishere says:

Wednesday 13th I declared the DAY OF GUERLAIN
For lunch with the ‘ladies I work with’ I chose Shalimar….om my gosh….did it bloom…..was simply gorgeous…2 compliments.
Previously I’d never considered it to be a Summer scent…For the staff Christmas Party we went to a local pub… I wore Jicky over the remnants of Shalimar
Today, Thursday is the Christmas Party for the Residents and families, so I’ll be rocking my Winter Delice as well as my ‘golden star’ and Chrissy hat in the shape of the Harry Potter ‘sorting hat’

  46. Gay says:

Musk oil by Spiritual Sky layered with Cassis, Rose & Sandalwood by Dame Perfumery… Delicious!

  47. Riana Vanderbyl says:

today i am wearing Rococo by Teone Reinthal Natural Perfumes – bliss in a bottle.

  48. Laura Keller says:

Just woke up to find the world outside is covered in somewhere around a foot of snow. Since most people here are asleep it is unsullied, silent, still and beautiful. Scent of the morning for me is gorgeous 80s vintage Cinnabar pure perfume with some spritzes of fragrance for sillage.

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

I wore Cinnabar in the early 80s…haven’t smelled it in years…you smell fantastic! Such a great cold weather scent. Next time I am in a dept store I will have to give it a whiff.

      • Laura Keller says:

The current Cinnabar is imo sadly a ghost of it’s former self. I’ve heard passing reviews from people who never encountered it in the past, but I’ve been wearing it since it came out in the late 70s (with a brief dry period when store bought became unwearable for me and eBay was not yet on my horizon) so I’m spoiled. I love it enough that I’m known to wear it in summer too – it actually kind of blooms in the heat, much like vintage Opium – but a winter without it would just be missing a piece. =)

      • Chocolate Marzipan says:

Ah yes, the dreaded reformulations. Maybe I won’t revisit it then. This is how I feel about Chanel Cristalle. The vintage with top notes intact (which does not exist anymore) was sublime. Current reformulation just isn’t the same.

  49. crikey says:

This is going to be one of those days where I keep sniffing my wrist, or tucking the edge of my top over my nose, because, damn… Encens Mythique d’Orient is a thing of amazement. (I managed to grab a couple of wee samples recently, and am only just wearing it). On a cold, dark, rainy day, this rich spicy saffrony ambergrisy incensey rose is making the mania of work seem so much less irritating…

  50. Esz says:

I wore Shay & Blue Salt Caramel today. So fantastic. Nutty and salty and creamy and sweet. SO GOOD

  51. Chocolate Marzipan says:

Following Gay’s lead and just now applied Dame Cassis, Rose & Sandalwood over a base of Dame New Musk Man perfume oil…so far I am loving it!

  52. MmkInPA says:

More snow. 2 hour delay for school. Parenting fail because I didn’t check first and woke my teenager up at the normal time (thereby exposing him to shoveling duty). Ambre 114 to continue with my theme for this week. Last year I received a compliment for this one from a 4 year old. We’ll see how I do with them today!

  53. fanny says:

Earlier today Sublime by Patou. This afternoon I made a decant for a friend so now I heavily smell of Grand Soir. Yum!

  54. Kandice says:

Wearing DSH Vanilla Chantilly today. It’s a nice, comforting vanilla skin scent.

  55. SonomaVelvet says:

Trying out Earth Mother today but it’s just not working or me. There is a note in there that’s just not for me but I’m very intrigued with it and wish I could figure out what it is. I’ve noticed it in other scents with the same reaction. hmmm I don’t know but I think I’ve had enough for now and I’m going to attempt to drown it out in a huge dose of Mexican Vanilla haha

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

I had an Earth Mother EDP decant, Earth Mother body cream and Earth Mother hair oil (which I still have a bit of). Out of the three the hair oil is my favorite and I use it as both a perfume oil and body oil. I did finish up the EDP decant but out of the three Earth Mother products liked it the least. I find that sometimes the scents are slightly different in different products (body creams vs edp, etc.). The Earth Mother EDP was a tad too sweet for me (believe it or not 🙂 !!)

  56. VerbenaLuvvr says:

More snow today. Snuggled in a warm shawl at work and wearing Hilde Soliani Crema di Latte

  57. Melanie says:

Happy Friday lovely people, I’m kicking around home again today so have L’art Timbuktu one arm and Safran Troublant on other. Getting lovely clove from Safran.
Off to hit the shops – got 18 peeps coming for lunch tomorrow. Catching up with workmates as we all went different directions after recent acquisition. Never had that many people in our place before – yikes!! Doing crazy mad things like changing pillow cases so they match. Really Mel!

    • Chocolate Marzipan says:

Safran T is gorgeous…the first time I tried it many years ago all I got was cumin..but I was gifted a 15ml decant not that long ago and my skin picked up very little cumin and lots of saffron, rose and vanilla…I used up that decant in the blink of an eye and thoroughly enjoyed it. Although I am wondering now if I am getting used to cumin in perfume as I have grown to love L’Air du Desert Marocain and Absolue Pour le Soir and I am pretty sure that they both have cumin in them.

    • Saffyishere says:

Are some of the 18 people staying over at your house. The tip for feeding that many people is ‘organized chaos’…. and lists…..lots and lots of lists.
Do not forget ice, extra milk and batteries.
Have fun catching up with former workmates.

      • Melanie says:

Cheers Saffyishere, only got two that might stay over & that we can accomodate! It will be chaos but fun. Thanks for the tips and yes to the extra milk – it’s going on the list!

    • Saffyishere says:

Hello Melanie ,how did your lunch go? Hoping lots of good times.

      • Melanie says:

Hi Saffyishere, lunch went great. WAY too much food but I guess overcatering is better than under. Was a bit hotter than I would have liked but we had a lovely day, was great to see everyone. And I got three compliments re my perfume 😎🌞❤️

  58. Saffyishere says:

Was exhausted after work last night… going in to work an extra 3 hours to help set up/ supply mirth to the residents is tiring… then doing a shift afterwards…..oh my!!
Anyway had a shower using the Nikki St Phalle shower gel ,then a couple sprites of same EDT. Bliss. this morning at 10.am I can smell remnants I think I will repeat the same process for getting ready for another day at work.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      Saffyishere,
Isn’t Niki de Saint Phalle the perfect heat beater? I love it in al,l weathers but in summer it seems to really shine.
      Portia xx

  59. Riana says:

Today I am wearing AMOUAGE Interlude (woman) relaxing in the heat of summer…

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

      Hey Riana,
I fell so madly in love with interlude Man that I can barely recall the woman. What’s it like?
      Portia x

  60. Chocolate Marzipan says:

Tibetan Mountain Temple with an overlay of Orange Sanguine..the citrus pairs nicely with the ginger and spices….absolutely yummy 🙂

    Happy Friday!!!

    • MmkInPA says:

You are so creative with the layering. I guess because you blend your own oils. I never think to layer anything, unless I’m trying to hide a borderline scrubber!

      • Chocolate Marzipan says:

I love experimenting! You should definitely give it a try! Worst case scenario is you just have to wash it off 🙂 And the nice thing is you can just about create a customized scent depending on how you layer.

  61. fanny says:

Sables, by Goutal. I have not worn this for years…

  62. VerbenaLuvvr says:

Wearing pink today, so it is Dame Rose, Cassis & Sandalwood.

  63. Kandice says:

Wearing SSS Fig Tree today. Yum!

  64. Melanie says:

It’s a no brainer for me today! L’art Vanille Absolument (how I love thee!) and a splash of Montale Black Oud. I know this combo will float around me nearly all day.

  65. Chocolate Marzipan says:

143 comment, Portia!! Oh la la!!!! Ending the evening with Lieu de Reves..wish this was still in the line up at SSS 🙁

    • Laura Keller says:

She brought it back this past Spring – I missed it the first time around but gosh it’s gorgeous.

    • australianperfumejunkies says:

YAY!! Loads of comments this week CM. I love the SOTD thread. It’s the one I come back to most each week. So much fun to read what everyone is wearing.
      Portia x

      • SonomaVelvet says:

It’s one of my favourites too. It’s and extra treat when you comment on our comments too, it feels like we’re in your friend family and we’re just visiting and chatting about perfumes

    • MmkInPA says:

I nabbed a travel spray of this, and wish I had the big bottle!

  66. SonomaVelvet says:

Annick Goutal Neroli today. Sometimes it’s just perfect for the mood I’m in and when that wore off I switched to SSS masterpiece Yin and Ylang.

  67. Saffyishere says:

Good morning all, or arvo or night..lol . I have discovered 2 of the ladies I care for in the nursing home I work love my perfumes. Each of them are in the early stages of dementia, but can carry on a ‘sequential’ conversation. Yesterday I took into work my 4 Avon Christmas themed bottles….much delight from each lady, which in turn delighted me.
As the Christmas Season is now in full swing at work, I’m wearing my Christmas tee shirts {I own 16}, so now I not only have to choose which perfume to wear, but the Tee shirt!!!! So many DECISIONS to make.
Red shirt with dancing reindeer, paired with Miss Dior, EDP….Will report on how the ladies of Kirralee ‘ respond to this gorgeous green scent

    • crikey says:

Oh how lovely, with the two ladies.

(My father was beautifully cared for in a dementia unit at a nursing home for his final three years, and your note makes me think of a lady there who was impossibly glamorous. Like my Pa, she was considerably past the stages that allowed for sequential language. And I loved that the staff took the time to get her so impeccably turned out, complete with her jewellery and lipstick and hair done, and her pretty silk scarves. It was clear how much pleasure this gave her, and she would sit and admire her painted nails for hours at a time. I wonder if she got a wee dab of scent to go with that…)

    • Melanie says:

      You smell amazing xx

  68. Chocolate Marzipan says:

I was going to go with Ginger Biscuit but my WASHED sweater STILL smells of LaDDM so I am staying with that 🙂

  69. fanny says:

It has been a strange week for me in many ways. So, I spent yesterday lulling myself into calm zen by reorganising my fumes. It took the whole bloody day. I STILL didn’t catalogue them. And now I have a ‘must use’ shelf that I awoke to this morning, wondering why I thought they were a good idea. I had to rummage around for Coco cos I felt like it. Then I wanted my Allure Sensuelle shower gel and had to unpack half the ‘do not use’ carton to find it. My brain isn’t boss of me, however much it may have superior powers. This is what it does to me. Much better my heart determine my perfumed life.

I’ve reached out for a hodge podge of stuff, plus spent some time researching things for Teone. The biggest shock of my life is how much I adore Poison Girl edt. I got a small bottle given by a female who didn’t like it. As I have the edp, she thought I may enjoy it. YES! I DO!

I have also been craving some Chanels. No idea why.

I’ve not wanted any of my niche stuff. Not in the mood for them.

But I have been opening some of my forgotten unopened bottles I’ve hoarded.

    Strange week.

Sadly I was moved to another area yesterday ,so didn’t see ‘the ladies. I did garner a compliment from a relative though, who on discovering I was wearing Miss Dior, declared….’Oh my sister wears that perfume…..Isn’t it called ‘cherry something’? lol
So a 3 minute conversation to dispel the myth lol.
Sunday I’m wearing a red tee shirt, with the wording ‘I’m the kind of naughty Santa likes’ and because I feel like something ‘pretty’ I’m mixing Bluebell with Iris.
