Stuff Portia Loved In 2012

Hey Crew,

Before you go any further jump back to our Triple Giveaway

I wanted to look back at the year of things that I’ve loved, that have made definite impressions on me, have changed the way I look at the world or craved/enjoyed/shared. Most of the non-fragrance things have been enjoyed with my Best Buddies and TSO Jin making them EXTRA special. I had to do a Top 20 Worn because it was impossible to curb, you are lucky it didn’t blow out to 200.

  3. And you inspire and delight US, Portia!! Can I ask you a question about the Naomi Goodsir Cuir? Your review says it’s like the inside of a leather handbag- is it very similar to Cuir de Lancome? If I have one, do I need the other?

  4. I love your lists! Some of the things that are on your list would also make mine: Shake it Out was one of my favorite songs released this year, I LOVE mangoes (mangos? too lazy to look it up), and of course I love APJ. Here’s to a splendid 2013!

  5. Of course I’m incredibly flattered that you included Olympic Orchids in the list of niche perfume houses (and in such good company!), but to be up there with mangoes and Penang curry? Well, it just doesn’t get any better than that. Thanks for a great year of blogging, and an even more splendid one in 2013!

  7. I am loving Olympic Orchids. Hubby got me the Just Orchids Sampler set and it’s wonderful. I will definitely be trying more of that line and there will be full bottles in my future.
For movies I loved Best Exotic Marigold Hotel too. Great cast. I don’t watch much TV but I did become a Downton Abbey junkie this past year. I was totally born in the wrong time period.
Excellent list of favorites, Portia. I look forward to reading your blog in the new year. Hope you have a happy and healthy 2013!

  9. Each time I hear Girl on Fire I can’t help but remember The Hunger Games. 🙂 It seems fitting.

My fragrant year wasn’t as full this year as it usually is and trying to remember the perfumes that got most skin time and I loved the most this year is a bit difficult, but I’ll put down those that stand out the most when I look back on my year (for whatever reason):

    Vero Kern Mito
    Neela’s Bombay Bling
    Hermes Elixir de Merveilles
    Puredistance Opardu
    Seville a L’Aube
    Santal Majuscule
Un Voix Noire (I’m a huge SL fan)

And Shalimar as the perfume that I always think about. 🙂

  10. Portia!

The #1 fumetastic thing is that I found your blog this year. The #2 fumetastic thing that happened in 2012 is that I got to go to the Perfume House in Portland, OR, up the road a ways from where I live….OH WOW OH WOW is all I can say. Now I have so many smells to learn. Could someone really be so happy holding a bottle of fragrant liquid? Yes, she could!
