Hello Fragrant Friends,
Sandra did a great review for Muguet Porcelain recently. You might like to trot back and read a more in depth review. Special thanks must go to Gene at Sydney City Hermès who always makes sure I get a sample of the latest offerings. Ask for her if you’re in shopping, nobody knows the products better or is more charming.

Fragrantica gives these featured accords:
Lily of the valley, green notes
So, I really like Lily of the Valley (LotV) even though it can sometimes skew bathroom deodoriser from my childhood, it was my mum’s favourite. So I’m always happy to read that there’s a new one on the market. We’ve had a small bunch of them lately: Miu Miu, Jessica Mauboy (Australian songstress) and every year for May 1st Guerlain produces a new and glam LotV frag.
Now, when I first smelled Muguet Porcelaine I thought it was a dead ringer for Jessica Mauboy’s Be Beautiful. Now I have them on side by side and while they do share some similarities they are not exactly the same. They both seem to be a combination of melon and LotV, both are green and crisp though Hermès has that famous JCE oily petrol slick note that I adore, both of them are cologne like in their longevity though Muguet Porcelaine does last longer.
An hour in and they are very similar to my nose, Muguet Porcelaine is a little dryer, packed with some extra LotV and galbanum, a hairs breath more nuanced but to the average nose it’s pretty much the same. Better noses than mine, of which most of you are, will probably pick up details I miss but as a price comparison Jessica Mauboy’s Be Beautiful is AUD$20 and Muguet Porcelaine AUD$325. I will buy a 15ml travel though because I love to have a couple of the Hermès in my just in case travel kit.

Funny you should ask this question because I’ve been sneaking into Sephora and DJ’s during my lunch break and spraying myself silly with happy, light, fragrances that remind me of spring. Today, I wore Atelier Grand Neroli.

I had a sniff of Be Beautiful recently and was impressed. It’s very springlike, and reminded me of Coty’s Monsoon. I’d love to try Muguet Porcelaine too! Follow by email. 🙂

Hi Portia, my typical spring scent since my college years is Clinique’s Wrappings. Its green herbal note is the best I can imagine and there’s always a bit left in the bottle till I buy the next one 🙂

Hi Portia. I follow via email. Florals always mean spring and summer scents to me. Right now I’m craving FM’s Eau de Magnolia and Magnolia Grandiflora Michel, sadly neither of which I have. Orange blossom fragrances also signal spring for me. Thanks for the giveaway!

Hey everyone, Im a follower by facebook. 🙂
Now my spring like fragrance I would like to mention is Guerlain Ideal homme created by Thierry Wasser.
I COMPLETELY fell in love with it when smelling it for the first time in Singapore Airports duty free. It really took to me right then and there, almost like it had woven into the fabric of my inner being- i just HAD to have this fragrance!!
So i bought it online a few weeks later and it arrived with great fanfare- everyone around me knew i was waiting for this fragrance!
And wow- we had a great wee fling- day and night, night and day- we were inseperable. I was energised by each and every spray- this naughty little fling was all of my hopes and dreams come true.
But then as spring turned into summer, and summer in turn gave way to autumn…. the love affair grew stale. I fell out of touch with Ideal- we weren’t seeing eye to eye anymore. We tried here and there to work things out but it was useless, the love had slowly…..grown…dimmer…. what went wrong? had I grown tired of it all?
I think about Ideal every now and then… wondering if we could ever make things work again… id be keen? i think?
Perhaps next spring?

actually…. perhaps the Cologne is what I should be looking for for next spring? Sometimes the one you NEED is right there all along…. right under your nose…. 😛

I follow by email. I like Ostara and Sideris for the summer. Passage d’Enfer is fairly light on me also. The funny thing is that I don’t usually change my fragrance with the season so much as with the situation. I sing in a choir and there are two people there who swear that they are allergic to everything that I have worn. As sad as that makes me, I now try to not wear fragrance when I am there. I love LoV, so this Giveaway sounds terrific. Thanks for the opportunity.

Hi Portia,
I follow by e-mail and Bloglovin’. Lily of the valley and iris blooming along with that earthy, let’s get growing fresh thing, that happens as winter is on its way out, are my favorite springtime fragrances. I wish someone could bottle that combination. Many have tried. That being said, Diorissimo is probably my favorite springtime/LotV scent.

Lovely, thank you for doing this! I follow on WordPress. Anything with LOTV says “spring” to me. A new love is Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Lilia Bella, but I also love L.I.L.Y. by Stella McCartney, Diorissimo, and other muguets. Another spring fragrance for me is Ostara, by Penhaligon’s.

I follow via e-mail. I could nearly have written the same as Tatiana. Chamade edp and Ostara are two scents I find are good in spring, but many green scents are excellent in spring but not necessarily good in summer.

This is the first time I have entered one of your give aways – could not resist a lily of the valley one! I follow by email. For spring, I am a Diorissimo fan, but I have also fallen quite heavily for Penhaligon’s Ostara.

Any lily of the valley perfume smells like spring to me — Diorissimo, Yardley talcum powder, etc. I love the lily of the valley note of Gucci Envy, but also its other spring floral notes like narcissus.
I recently sampled Malle’s Eau de Magnolia. Yup, that would work very well for spring, and summer too so I can amortize its cost.
