Hi Lovers of NEW!

Yesterday we chatted about You Or Someone Like You by Chandler Burr + Etat Libre d’Orange 2017. It’s brand new, only just appeared at LuckyScent and Chandler sent me a bottle. Suddenly last night after the review went live I thought, how churlish I am not offering a GIVEAWAY! So though we don’t post here at APJ on Saturdays anymore I thought maybe I could make an exception so some of you could get to try it too.

    I’ve sampled a few but I’ll go with Jasmin et Cigarette. I remember this one particularly because I was standing in Sydney Sephora handling the bottle and trying to avoid the stampede of teens vying to get their faces and fingers into the cosmetic counters! Indolic jasmin, smokey tobacco – tick, tick! No ash for me thankfully. I haven’t spent a lot of time with this house but it’s been on my list. would love to try this one.

    I am yet to sample this house, but Portia’s review of this one certainly captured my interest, and I would love to work my way through the house. I think that would take real guts!

    Jane’s review above of Jasmin et Cigarette sounds very appealing, but I’m a little scared of the Fat Electrician.

  5. This is such a polarising house, some I sampled made my eyebrows disappear into my hair, but I really like Putain des Palaces. Such a great name…

  13. Shamefully, I’ve read nothing by Chandler Burr. I’ll have to fix that. I think the only ELDO I know well enough to like is la Fin du Monde. I have a sample of Hermann I ought to spend some quality time with, though. This one doesn’t sound like I would enjoy wearing it, but it sounds so interesting that I definitely want to try it.

  17. I just picked up “You or someone like you” from the library the other day and have 2 more books by Chandler Burr on order. Would like to sniff “Fat Electrician” (refreshing name in a sea of ‘noir’ and ‘nuits’). Hopefully get a chance while in Sydney in May.

  21. I love Jasmin et Cigarette and have multiple bottles of it though I do feel jasmin et cigarette formula has become thinner now though does smell same. I follow APJ by email and facebook.
