Hello Fellow Fumies,

Every Saturday we have a Question, an idea purloined from Olfactoria’s Travels. Everyone gets to chime in with an answer, chat with other responders and it is a fun event each week. Taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.

The idea is you’ll see it on the weekend or chime in through the week. Hopefully you will come back and see if anyone has responded to your comment and you can reply to them.

Over 100 responses I will draw a $10 Surrender To Chance Gift Card.
Over 200 responses I will draw a $20 Surrender To Chance Gift Card.
Comment purposefully on yours or anothers comment & you’ll have a chance, random.org will draw on Friday.

Saturday Question: My Three Next Full Bottle Purchases Will Be?

Do you have a wishlist? What’s at the top currently? Are you saving for some special things or are they going to be an impulse buy at the mall, or trolling the discounters late at night? Do you have separate wishlists for different things? Vintage, expensive, bargain, discontinued?

My Answer:

Still trying to work this list down to zero but instead of concentrating on fulfilling my list I tend to get distracted by new and shiny things. Especially if there is a sale or someone is selling a half bottle on the Facebook pages.

So here are my current Top 3 most wanted in bold. I can’t believe that Grandiflora Michel still isn’t in my collection, it’s a freaking masterpiece. SO, by New Year 2018 I’m going to try and own these 3 fabulous fragrances. Wish me luck.

  1. Heeley Coccobello
    L’artisan Seville A L’aube
    Serge Lutens Fleur d’Oranger

Not in any particular order. I try to purchase from my Wishlist but alas, that is not always the case. Though I am getting better 🙂

    • Hey Latai,
L’artisan Seville A L’aube is one of my faves. I’m grabbing g it out for a wear tomorrow.

    • Same for me, I should be more disciplined and stick to my Wishlist since these are also the scents that I have tested a lot and that really are full bottle worthy.

I like your three Wishlist scents, Fleur d’Oranger is an orange flower dream come true!

  2. GET SABLES, PORTIA!!!! One of the best immortelles out there!!!

Given my tight budget and my desire to save as much $$$ as possible as the next Marzipan heads to college in the Fall I have not had a wish list for full bottles for a while now…..although I am sure as I read everyone else’s wish list something might pop up and I will add my comment later. Although if a vintage bottle of RL Safari fell into my lap from the sky I would not frown upon that 🙂

    Like

    • HA! Yes, I love Sables and it has been in my cart dozens of times CM.
THEN they changed the bottle and formula and I was sad but it still smells great. SOON!

  3. I would buy Neela Vermeire Rahele with Santa money, or Reve d’Ossian. Maybe vintage O de Lancome for the hot summer. But there is nothing gnawing away at me at the moment. Shock horror.
PS my husband has informed me I am not getting any perfume for Christmas!

    • OMG! JackieB! How can he be so heartless. Now you’ll have to shop your emotions!
Neela Vermeire Rahele and Reve d’Ossian are stellar choices. YUM

  4. Van Cleef & Arpels Orchidee Vanille (back up bottle – stunning)
Montale Mukhallat (also a back up bottle – can’t stop spraying)
Ummmm – my current want list is sitting at 204, so no way can I pick just one more. I’ll see where the fragrant currents take me.

  5. I am trying not to buy anything that only comes in 100ml bottles – too many and not willing to give up anything I already have! I don’t really have a list, but have been eyeing up:

    VC&A Bois d’Iris
    Seville a l’aube
    Travel size of NV Pichola
I also have high hopes for the new Hiram Green Slowdive.

  6. Sitting at the top of my list at the moment:

    Papillon’s Dryad
    Aeon 001
    Vero’s Naja

With Zoologist’s Civet and Bogue’s MEM as runners up.
If I could get my paws on it in the UK: En Voyage’s Rainmaker

    Like

      • I had no idea I would fall for Naja like this, that’s the surprise one for me. It may be sacrilege, but I’ve not got on well with others of hers I have tried. I can’t deal with passionfruit as a note. Love the taste, but hate it in perfume.

Naja and Aeon may just have to be decants, though, rather than full bottles. Because I seem to have developed worryingly expensive taste…

  8. There are not as many fragrances on my Wishlist anymore since I bought two masterpieces last months: DelRae Bois de Paradis and pre-reformulation Epic Woman. Big yum!
Now I am still lemming Annick Goutal Songes and ELdO Eau de Protection Rossy de Palma. And a backup for Iris Poudre, my travel size is almost empty.

    • I really want BdP but I just don’t need a big bottle. Several years ago the brand was discussing smaller bottles on Twitter – so since then I’ve been periodically checking their site. So far – nothing. It’s a pity since I’d buy this one and Wit in 10-15 ml format in a heartbeat!

      Like

      • I love Wit, it’s another favourite from the line and yes, smaller bottles would be great. Still, if DelRae changed one thing about their marketing strategy, I would hope for something else and that is more presence in Europe. It is almost impossible to find stores that have DelRae scents in stock and ordering from the U.S. is pretty expensive…

  10. I do not need any more perfumes. Will it stop me from buying them? Probably not. I do not have a list since I usually buy what I want when I know for sure that I want it. But even then I might be waiting for months for a better price or occasion.
Currently I’m thinking of buying Chanel Bois Des Iles extrait but I calculated that the best price I can get is a duty free shop at airports, so now I’m waiting.
The second planned purchase is Dior Ambre Nuit but I’m waiting for those smaller 40 ml bottles to appear in the US.
Other than that, there are several perfumes that I almost decided that I want but not 100% sure yet.

    • Hey Undina,
YAY! Can’t wait for the 40ml bottles of DIOR. In Paris in April so I’ll be grabbing a whole slew of them. YAY!

The next 3 bottles on my wishlist:

  13. I am currently concentrating on Teone Reinthal Natural Perfumes and have worked my way through a lot of testers. This gal is impressive! So after letting the pollen-dust settle I am still totally gobsmacked by these three which I will purchase early in the new year… if not before.
Blue Lotus; Mogra; Pema. … and the bottles are also divine.

    • Hi Riana,
I am making my way through the Teone file myself. Interesting fragrances. So earthy. They seem to touch secret, hidden parts of me.

  14. Sigh. Money… yes, well. Let’s just get it out there.
    1. Dragonboat by Teone Reinthal
    2. Hinoki by CdG
    3. Wood Infusion by Goldfield and Banks
My want list is the smallest it has ever been. Just these will do. Like many here, not much is grabbing me and I am loathe to try new things right now. My tastes are changing so rapidly that it would be pointless to buy full bottles of anything but Dragonboat.

For me probably another bottle of Lys Med, my fifth FB of this gorgeous creation, plus another of Anais Anais and Michael Kors. If I had to choose three FBs that I haven’t owned before, they would be:

    Henley Bubblegum Chic
    Wit by DelRae
    Neroli Lumiere by Bastide

    In no particular order;
As much Stash as I can stash
Savoy Steam by Penhaligon and, perhaps after Christmas a bottle of Katy Perry’s Indi.

    • Saffyishere, chemist warehouse had Stash on special about two weeks ago. They might still have some either in store or online. I grabbed a small 30ml to try – worth every cent of my ten dollars!

  17. I do lot of blind buying and my purchases often depend upon the auctions and deals so it is really hard for me to know what I will be buying next. But of course, there are perfumes on my radar list that I def. plan to add to my collection when a good deal comes along. They are Naomi Goodsir Bois d’Ascese, Guerlain Ans 180, and Norma Komali Incense.

    Like

    • Hey Fazal,
I have purposely steered clear of trying Norma Somali Incense, another DCd vintage love is the last thing I need.

    • Earth Mother is fantastic…I actually prefer the hair oil which I use as body/perfume oil over the EDP. You could always get a travel of the hair oil and use it as perfume which makes it practically free 🙂

  19. My list is short because I usually just go ahead and satisfy the itch.

    Bruno Fazzolari Ummagamma
Aftelier Parfum de Maroc (and the tarragon finishing salt)
Rising Phoenix Attar (probably the Sicilian Vanilla)

    Like

  20. Reve d’Ossian by Oriza Legrand
    Musc Ravageur by F Malle
And absolu pour Le soir by MFK…
Although if I find a cheap bottle of Ubar before I find these that might get bumped up the list 😂

    • TOO MUCH CHOICE! I get it Melanie. That Serge first buy should be now, fro one of the discounters, they still have a good selection of the 50ml at fab prices.

  22. I absolutely agree with you, Portia, on Grandiflora Michel! One of my all-time favorite fragrances. I just wish it wasn’t so hard to find in the US. I don’t buy FB’s often as there are so many “needs” that push out the “wants.” I usually get by with travel sizes or samples. But if I did buy FB’s, what’s next would depend on the season. Right now because it’s winter here, my top three would be Guerlain’s SDV, vintage Chanel Coco, and Atelier Cologne’s Cafe Tuberosa. Coming in fourth would be Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon. For spring/summer though the list would be different. It would be FM’s Carnal Flower, Amouage Blossom Love, and Grandiflora’s Michel. That said, I just received a bunch of samples from DSH and your sample pack that I won. So all this could change tomorrow 🙂

  23. Hard question! I have tried diligently to stop buying full bottles. The perfume space in my closet is full up. And there are half a dozen or so neglected bottles I’ve relegated to the floor that probably should go to new homes.

But if I can pretend that free time, storage space, and money are unlimited then my three FBs are:

    1. Chanel Eau de Cologne, 200 mls because I would wear it every d*mn day. Cologne is my religion.
    2. Prada Les Infusions Amande, 100 mls because I like 4 or more sprays at a time, and I’m tired of hoarding my decant. I’m sure I’ve already mentioned wanting this one. I should just get off the dime and buy it.
    3. Carnal Flower because it is Queen BWF. I’ve fallen hard for tuberose in perfume after sniffing a few good ones recently.

I’m glancing admiringly at Maggiecat’s Diorissimo. I never smelled the old stuff so I don’t know what I’m missing. The tester bottle I tried a few months ago was very pretty. Hajusuuri’s choice of Parfum de Maroc makes me curious as I am newly infatuated with L’air du desert marocain.

    • Hey Taffanie,
Diorissimo is very hit and miss in vintage. it is like the resiling of fragrance sadly, not meant for extended life. UNLESS you find a pristine one, then the vintage will move you to tears, exquisite.

I try to finish a bottle before I buy a new one and it’s really hard but on the other hand very motivating. Since I’m pretty sure I’ll finish some bottles in 2018 I will replace them with:
    1. Ormonde Jayne – Tiare
    2. B.Fazzolari – Montserrat
    3. Chanel – 1932
