Hi APJ,
A SOTD (Scent Of The Day) thread is a really good conversation generator. The idea is you’ll chime in through the week with whatever scent you are wearing. You don’t need to be super knowledgable, have high faluting tastes or be a published author to comment. Just tell us what fragrance you’re wearing, smelling, buying etc. and how it makes you feel and/or anything else about it that tickles your fancy.
You can also comment on everyone else choices too. It’s great to tell someone how much you love their choice, ask for more info about it, the house or perfumer. There’s someone here from around the world 24/7 and perfume people love to chat.
SOTD 20.8 – 26.8.2018
You probably won’t have time to write every scent, every spritz but whenever you feel the mood take you share your current spritz and a few things about it. Maybe you love/loathe it, want it, are excited by the notes/bottle/SA who sold it: WHATEVER! As always here at APJ, taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.
Hopefully you will come back and see if anyone has responded to your comment and you can reply to them.
Go To It Crew.

Pottered around the duty free a bit aimlessly on my way home this evening. The new Dior Joy? Utterly forgettable pinky floral white musky sweet stuff. Almost offensively inoffensive. Finally encountered some Chanel No.18–after one assistant kept telling me I was wrong, and that it was No.19–and that’s more dangerous. Tried it on my skin and sniffed it happily all the way home.

He said he hadn’t ever noticed, not like some people in the street who wore giant toxic clouds that leave you choking. Then sniffed, and said “aye, that’s nice.”

Fidji… on the granddaughter? Wow…. she is going straight to the Boardroom in that… no fairy floss beginning like I had as a child.

Oh yes, Saffy, she’s going places!

Either that or she’ll just raid mine (more likely, I think😉)

@cassieflower I love TC! And it loves me too! It was the first SL I tried.
And Fidji for your granddaughter- super cool 😎🍌

Yes, it packs a small punch.

How strange, I cannot remember much fruit in Fidji at all (I had it in the 90s, plus the lovely scented lotion).

I don’t think there’s any fruit in there at all, but she obviously thinks otherwise 😉

I wore Bois des Iles in the morning, then switched to Guerlain’s Vetiver, and as my SOTN I’m wearing some precious juice from a vintage Kouros bottle I received today. I can’t stop sniffing my arm!

Haven’t smell vintage Kouros in forever.

It has stronger beeswax presence compared to the edt made in 2001. They don’t sell any Kouros here so I don’t know what YSL have done with it now (nothing good, I suspect).

Oh how I love thee….vintage Kouros is soooooooooooooooooooooooo sexy. I’m jealous, Diana you now own such a treasure.

I’ve only tried Wan Chai (thank you, Portia!), it’s a gorgeous deep smoky scent, I love it sick. I wonder what other treasures Teone has in store (will find out!).

Oooh, Diana, added Wan Chai to my Teonie wishlist!

Sunday arvo chillin’ with new Glasshouse candle called ‘Melbourne’ burning – coffee flower , vanilla and sandalwood. A new hand cream Maine Beach Mclaren Vale Olive oil with Fig and Pear smells delightful. And because that’s not enough, I’m trying hard to like Hiram Greens Slowdive. Sadly I’m not enjoying this one. Had read lots of good stuff about this one but alas, not for me.

That candle sounds divine.

It’s cool, grey and wet today so I’ve busted out the big gun. Copious amounts of Stash. Smally is still unperfumed as she’s gone off for a spin with granddad.

Copious amounts is the only way to wear Stash…I finished my 1oz bottle in three short weeks over the winter….daily copious amounts.

It’s that kind of fragrance, you just want to be lavish when spraying. I’ve got a backup ready when I run out.

ha! I am still working on what I have at home before considering another bottle.

You are smelling marvellous. Perhaps you could put Stash on Smally too?

One more round with all the Atelier Bloems this morning before I package them up and send them to a good friend who loves perfume.
I caved and bought Heaven yesterday for 25 USD for 100 ml…enabler pin goes to cassieflower, Undina and above mentioned friend who encouraged me to do it before the prices go up astronomically as bottles become scarce (y’all know how THAT goes!!!)

Congratulations on a nice catch, Brigitte! I’ve bought 3/4 of a 100 ml bottle of Dzing! today, got a pretty good deal considering what’s been happening with our national currency lately.

Last night’s fundraiser perfume was LPRN Black Perfecto. I have a generous decant and it was all I could do to not buy a bottle in Paris (because I love the bottle). The decant is probably all I will ever need of the juice. The weather today is uninspiring and school starts tomorrow. Stash sounds pretty good so I may give that a spritz.

Monday afternoon. I slept in until about 9AM. I’m feeling particularly fragile and I want to curl up in the foetal position and cry. I’m staying home today, in a ‘safe harbour’. I will shower soon ,then go for a little walk around my garden { a few daffodils and jonquils have sprouted}. I may even have a visit from the neighbourhood cat, whom hubby has nicknamed Checkers. Perfume wise, I’m burning a Crabtree/ Evelyn Christmas candle called Noel…gorgeous resinous incense gloriousness. For my skin? I’ve found a sample of Madgredoe Poupre.
Apologies for the long post.
