Pacific Rock Moss by Goldfield & Banks

Fragrantica gives these featured accords:
Australian Coastal Moss, Lemon, Sage, Geranium, Cedar Wood

Cool briny coastal air, maybe even from a blustery day on a cliff with the spray flying around you. A refreshing yet cosy look at the aquatic/ozonic genre that smells like a very expensively produced flanker of the L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme series. The lemon is here adding its citrus sweetness. The sage I would have picked as cardamom because its smooth, green furriness is much less herbal than I imagine age. The wood has a sharp jumpier touch and the whole fragrance is far better than your average aquatic adventure.

I think Pacific Rock Moss is the warmest cold wet salty fragrance I’ve smelled. It will wear well into the Autumn. I’m really happy to have a bottle and it will see some hefty use.

Leave a comment below. Four lucky people from anywhere in the world will get a decant.

Have you tried any Goldfield & Banks?

    • Oh wait, I HAVE tried Southern Bloom! I love Boronia but found it a little too dry/woody on me. Must give it another go.

  1. I’ve wanted to smell this one due to the past hype on it but not enough to buy some! LOL. If it happened my way, I would give it a sniff. The one that I really am dying to try or have is Southern Bloom!!! I haven’t tried any yet from this house.

  2. Thanks for the opportunity, Portia. I have not tried any Goldfield and Banks, but I keep hearing about this one and I would love to try it. Like Kramer, I’m searching for the real smell of the ocean!

  3. I have Southern Bloom, Desert Rosewood and a decant of White Sandalwood. I’ve smelled the whole line, Pacific Rock Moss is a great summer scent, more masculine than feminine on me. DNEM.

  4. I’ve wanted to try this one and their Desert Rosewood. How pretty would a full line-up from this house look on the shelf! So generous of you to share your new acquisition with us.

  5. I’ve always been more woody oriental myself, but have been wanting to try to expand my tastes into aquatic for some time (especially to support Australian). Seems to be a lot of varying opinions on this one in the community. Will have to grab a sample one day 🙂

  6. Oh yes! I’m in for this, so curious about Pacific Rock fragrance. I’ve read that is very polarizing, some of the people love it and some say this is a designer mass pleaser type of a smell. Thank you for the chance ✌🏻

  7. I have not het tried anything from Goldfield and Banks. I love green herbs in perfume and have not yet found my perfect coastal perfume, so would love to try this.

  8. I actually have a tiny sample of this and really like it, but it’s a dabber so hard to get the full effect. Definitely would like to try more of the line. The discovery set is $42 – gulp. Not in this month’s sampling budget!

  9. I really like PRM but I can’t justify the cost based on performance. If it was a bit cheaper I’d probably grab a bottle – and would absolutely love a decant haha! I haven’t tried anything else from this house besides Blue Cypress which was also nice. The discovery set available on their website is worth seeking out for anyone interested. Retailers are surprisingly scarce.

  14. Never tried Goldfield & Banks before; this is my first encounter with that brand. Interesting description, a coastal scent that works for autumn. Might suit the weather around here quite well.

  15. I happily found out last week that a perfumery here in my hometown has introduced Goldfield & Banks perfumes in their shop but I was travelling recently and didn’t have time to check them out so far. This week I have another business trip scheduled so I guess next weekend I’ll try them all out.
I’m looking for a salty fragrance so maybe that’s the one.
