Hi APJ,
A SOTD (Scent Of The Day) thread is a really good conversation generator. The idea is you’ll chime in through the week with whatever scent you are wearing. You don’t need to be super knowledgable, have high faluting tastes or be a published author to comment. Just tell us what fragrance you’re wearing, smelling, buying etc. and how it makes you feel and/or anything else about it that tickles your fancy.
You can also comment on everyone else choices too. It’s great to tell someone how much you love their choice, ask for more info about it, the house or perfumer. There’s someone here from around the world 24/7 and perfume people love to chat.
SOTD 15.4 – 21.4.2019
You probably won’t have time to write every scent, every spritz but whenever you feel the mood take you share your current spritz and a few things about it. Maybe you love/loathe it, want it, are excited by the notes/bottle/SA who sold it: WHATEVER! As always here at APJ, taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.
Hopefully you will come back and see if anyone has responded to your comment and you can reply to them.
Go To It Crew.

Chris Rusak QUA. Chris Rusak is active on Instagram and was profiled on Cafleurebon. He seems like a really interesting guy so I decided to try his discovery set (after he put it on sale… the original price of $51 was a little high for my sampling budget). This one has a L’Heure Bleue vibe, I need to spray it a little heavier; after 4 hours it’s gone skin scent on me (my skin is still eating up perfume). I will probably switch to Io later – it’s an evergreens and incense perfume that sounds about right for today – it Snowed this morning!

I wore Joop Nuit d’Ete parfum. could not really smell on me even though i went for 2-3 dabs on the neck. Also it is difficult to research it since parfum bottles on the net show liquid color in green, purple, and brown. I wonder if my bottle has real parfum or someone filled it with edp since edp has also thick liquid. But I just don’t have much info to determine the truth.

In the eighties I liked Chamade but all the other perfumes seemed too “grown up” for me so I just ignored them. Ok, Samsara was amazing too. The reformulations of those two perfumes are disappointing and I think the other reformulations couldn’t be better so I’d rather pass on them. That’s the whole truth.

I took my 6 year old (as of tomorrow) great niece for her first pedicure, and then we went to Bath and Body Works. She picked out a nightlight with fragrance for her bedroom, and various scented hand gels and lotions. She was over the moon excited. It was so fun to share in her joy.

I have sent home my Korres bottle and now instead have Orange Sanguine in my room, plus also Week-End by de Nicolaï. I wore Orange Sanguine Monday and Week-End on Tuesday. Both are nice scents, and someone gave a positive comment about Week-End. Perhaps I will finish this 30 ml bottle later this year?
Eating too much Easter marzipan, so many seasonal treats available! it would have helped immensely if food was a bit better in this institution, I wouldn’t have felt quite as peckish probably.Feeling down, but luckily I have never suffered clinical depression and am confident I’ll get through the coming weeks too. Binge watching the crime series (always something new for Easter here, it is a tradition) and reading several books.

I’m feeling strangely ok today. Wore lashings of Orange Sanguine, It’s a very cheerful fragrance. Yesterday we said goodbye to our beautiful Weimar daughter. I busied myself all day at I dunno what. We loaded her in the boot of the car in her cosy bed, and gave her a last drive through where we walk, I sat with her in the back with boot lid open so the sun was beaming on her (all quiet, no traffic) Then we got her a small whipped ice cream cone. We went in at end of vet surgery hours. He came out to the car and sedated her and she was happily asleep, curled up as usual and then she got her bye bye shot. She was so peaceful.
The lump in my throat and stomach has eased today. It’s an awful heartbreaker saying goodbye to our animal babies but needs must. Couldn’t go home though afterwards so went to friends for the night. Pair of saps😌

I’ve been.MIA all week because I’ve been travelling. My travel scent has been the ever-reliable and versatile Richard James Savile Row, and Ill be wearing that again today and tomorrow.
Yesterday was different though, because I ended into town to meet up with some of the Sydney-based AFNers. We had a fine old time in a rooftop bar in glorious sunshine, snffing a vast array of perfumes. The highlight for me was probably my first encounter with Cuir Beluga. What a fantastically smooth leather that is.

A big virtual hug to Marcella,. Hope to see you back here soon!
Scentless today, but will put on some of the scented body oil (Tauer Amber Flush) later in the afternoon. The bottle will soon be empty, but with the warmer weather I crave different scents anyway, so will have to look for something new.
Struggling to be a good listener for the lady in the room next to mine, she is fighting anxiety and what seems to be clinical depression. Most of the nurses and other staff don’t seem to be willing to see the problem, so she and all of us around have to live with the all the trouble this causes.
