I can’t believe you haven’t sniffed any newbies! Neither have I, just enjoying what I have. There are a few things waiting for me in the post office, though😉, along with Neil’s book. That’ll keep me occupied for a few days. Great to be the lucky recipient of PPP this week.

I have been bling buying like a lunatic. I haven’t been able to sniff any old frags. Everything is new. My most recent spray last night that I still smell is Serge Lutens Le Participe Passe. I have a love hate with this house. I own a ton of them but feel like I should hate them but they grow on me. In a weird way. This to me is the first conceptual house. I don’t think that I’ve thunked since high school. Horror.

I was alerted to the Miller Harris offer of 3 samples for £5 (free postage) by Sam I Scent you a Day.
I bought Powdered Veil, Violet Ida and Scherzo. This offer has now finished.
The new offer is 100ml bottles for the price of 50ml.
I hope that I have made this clearer than my befuddled brain posts earlier today !!!!
I’m very broke at the moment so can’t really even afford the 50ml price. A fab bargain.
Violet Ida is lovely so is Powdered Veil. XX

Both Powdered Veil and Violet Ida sound wonderful, because powder! I love that! I lady I know from Britain wears Miller Harris L’air de Rien, otherwise I’ve not sampled the line. You must live In London? I see the Twice is Nice offer on the website for UK shipping. Sadly I’m in US, but I’ll keep these perfumes on my radar for samples.

I know of Manchester! When I was a teenager, living in Canada, I had a boyfriend from Manchester. I was on the Canadian swim team, he on the British swim team and was training in Canada for the year. I’m a Canadian, living in the US for almost 30 years now.

Gave some proper skin time to Porpora. It’s an unusual rose scent, – a bit fruity, with a bunch of spices. For some reason I get a minty note. Will revisit it later.
Thunked i.e. gave to somebody else four samples: Malone Red Roses, Blonde Versace, Van Cleef and Nirmala. I’d never empty them myself anyway 🙂

New sniffs are L’Instant de Guerlain; Lancôme Tresor Elixir; and Henry Rose sampler set.
Loving the L’Instant and Tresor, both my style. Henry Rose scents not for me, but always fun to get my nose on new releases.
I’ve been too busy with new acquisitions to have thunked!

New sniffs this week were Violettes du Czar (didn’t like this, i think i hate violets), Cacharel Eden and a blind buy i am very fond of: SJP Covet. This smells like some citrus lavender chocolate and very much like spring. Even the boyfriend kind of liked it.
In London i sniffed so much perfumes, that i cannot remember them all. I liked Vol de Nuit a lot and Musks Koublai Khan (so damn expensive)….

MKK is Jin’s favourite Serge Lutens. He has no idea what it costs and goes through a bottle annually that I am expected to repurchase for him in Paris. I didn’t know they had the bell jars in London but good to know.

I have been a miserable thunker this week, only one decant. In my defence, it was Oud Satin Mood which is powerful enough that one spray is plenty!

I smelled Cartier d’un Soir for the first time. Some people think it is different from Declaration but I immed. recognized it as a derivative of original Declaration, only with spicy rose. I don’t like D’un Soir much but that is really because I don’t like original Declaration much either though I understand it is one of the iconic perfumes. But anyone who likes Declaration, I think D’un Soir is quite a faithful flanker that incorporates the DNA of the original.
