Hi APJ,
A SOTD (Scent Of The Day) thread is a really good conversation generator. The idea is you’ll chime in through the week with whatever scent you are wearing. You don’t need to be super knowledgable, have high faluting tastes or be a published author to comment. Just tell us what fragrance you’re wearing, smelling, buying etc. and how it makes you feel and/or anything else about it that tickles your fancy.
You can also comment on everyone else choices too. It’s great to tell someone how much you love their choice, ask for more info about it, the house or perfumer. There’s someone here from around the world 24/7 and perfume people love to chat.
SOTD 6.5 – 12.5.2019
You probably won’t have time to write every scent, every spritz but whenever you feel the mood take you share your current spritz and a few things about it. Maybe you love/loathe it, want it, are excited by the notes/bottle/SA who sold it: WHATEVER! As always here at APJ, taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.
Hopefully you will come back and see if anyone has responded to your comment and you can reply to them.
Go To It Crew.

It is really amazing. It shows designer brands used to spend a lot of time brainstorming briefs and perfecting final formulations and then release them with unforgettable marketing campaigns. A total contrast to how things are now. I think the time period involving both brief and perfume development is mere months now or sometimes even weeks.

Last Saturday and Sunday I wore Midnight in Paris to work and had some interesting reactions. It is very rare for me to wear a scent 2 days in a row. On Saturday I was helping a lady named Beverly by cutting up her food. She has dementia and is often confused and unable to express her needs but on occasion she can be very articulate and insightful. On Saturday she was the latter and very clearly said to me” You smell really nice and should be going out dancing instead of being here!!” On Sunday I chose to wear MIP again to see if Beverly noticed the smell again. She did!!!! And this time she told another woman named Joan that I smelt lovely. So I asked Joan if she’d like to smell my wrist. Joan agreed to this.I offered my arm and Joan inhaled . She smiled and said “ you smell delightful “ I got a lift home from my friend and the first comment she made was ‘ That perfume smells gorgeous “ Think we have a winner here folks!!!!

I have been wearing ELdO True Lust today from the sample Portia generously sent me. It is very nice and pretty, yet it is not something I will need a full bottle of. Perhaps it is too sweet and floral for me. Thankfully no “chemical spill” to start with (see what Portia wrote about this one). I do seem to get more violet than spicy rose, in fact this perfume is rather sweet for the first hour or so (the rum?). I haven’t detected any coconut really (a note I usually don’t like in perfume anyway), but there’s something a little tropical to it (very nice!). Sadly this creation fades to nothing in less than five hours on my skin. The base notes are hardly there on my skin! This also means I can detect very little sandalwood and hardly any animalic notes at all. The name doesn’t really fit the perfume IMHO, the perfume seems prettier and less sensual than the name would suggest,
I would love to hear what those of you who own this perfume make of it, it seems True Lust could be used on many occations. Really happy to have been given a chance to try it, and I will finish the sample once the weather gets warmer again.

I have not heard of True Lust however 5 hours isn’t too bad
