Hey there dear APJ community.

Words seem to be failing me at the moment. How do I bid you all farewell? How do I say goodbye to a much beloved safe fragrance space?

Auf Wiedersehen…

Thank you dear Portia for making my life a bit brighter with your cheer and enthusiasm all things fragrant. I thoroughly enjoyed reading all the APJ posts and then turning around and writing some as well. Your generosity and welcoming kindness will always be something for me to live by. I learned a lot through APJ, laughed and cried whilst reading the posts and being part of your life.

I have met some wonderful people through the perfume community and I will forever cherish these friendships and connections.

Thank you dear readers for your wonderful support throughout the years and with my two moves. You all helped me get through some challenging times.

I wish you all the best and hope to see you around the perfume blogs or on Instagram or Facebook. I will be hiking my way through Switzerland as I challenge my stamina and will be wafting some lovely fragrances.

Should you find yourself visiting Switzerland look me up. I would love to meet you for a drink and a chat.

  7. To you, Sandra No 1, and everyone on APK, it’s a cheers from me and a huge thank you to all, especially Portia. I shall so much miss reading about everyone’s adventures and what they got up to, made me feel I was right there with you all. To my dear Portia, I so wish you all the love, kindness , caring and fun that you give out comes back at you a million fold. I’m just sorry I didn’t meet you all sooner, you’re a truly wonderful and amazing bunch. Perhaps we shall all meet again, you just never know what lies ahead! May you all majestically waft your gorgeous scents as you go about your day. Maybe, some little voice will pipe up, “that’s a beautiful scent, what is it” and maybe you’ve “met” before on APJ.     Four years ago this week we were all hanging out together in Vienna. It’s so strange to see all the memory photos coming up as we farewell APJ. You’ve been a solid and wonderful contributor for years here and I’ve loved every post, every photograph and all the fun times we’ve spent together around the would.
    There will be more.

  10. I have thoroughly enjoyed and always looked forward to your posts. For me, your contributions were exactly the right mixture of perfume, nature, and life – with it’s ever changing circumstances. It was a real and genuine depiction of bits of your life that you so generously shared with us. A very welcome and refreshing change from the trite, vacuous and airbrushed life snippets that are typically churned out on social media these days. Thank you for your efforts at authenticity and for being so real. It was a joy to read. Not to mention your gorgeous photography. I’ve often wondered if you have taken courses and/or use high end equipment. You certainly have a good eye and a knack for framing that goes beyond the amateur effort. I still recall one of your earlier photographs that had me hooked. It was when you lived in Rotterdam and depicted a willow tree at the edge of a canal or stream of some sort. It had a profound effect on me in that it made me yearn to visit the country where I was born. Maybe someday! In the meantime, travel on and enjoy life 😘

    • How long since you’ve visited your birthplace? If you ever decide to head this side of the Atlantic be sure to let me know. I’m only looking for an excuse to visit the lowlands again. It has been almost 20 years since I’ve been there. OMG where’s the time gone?😱

    Then we got to meet in real life Vienna 2016! It’s surreal I am sad, but let’s see what the future brings ….

  13. Sandra, I am feeling your sadness. You have a knack of writing with depth and sensitivity. And an even bigger knack behind the lens. It’s been a pleasure reading your postings, even if I didn’t read those back in the earlier days, as I’ve only been hanging round here for past three years or so. Thanks for sharing an insight into your life and perfume loves. APJ needn’t necessarily be the disintegration of the APJ ‘family’ as we will be popping up on other blogs. Portia will be making a guest appearance on Perfume Posse on Thursdays and Undina and Old Herbaceous have offered us refuge😉 I do hope you’ll pop in to keep us company. Ciao for now💋
