Hey there Crew,

I loved doing this so much, LET’S DO IT AGAIN!!

There are a bunch of 25 samples & decants that sit here all forlorn, most tested but now in the discard pile. Some of the reasons for being there? Maybe I bought a FB, it had an issue that renders it unwearable, I liked it but have something similar, I have double or triple, I hated it, I LOVED it and completely forgot about it, I’ve moved on. So many reasons, so MANY samples. They are mostly used a bit but they have heaps for testing and trying. I know you’re going to love at least something in this pack.

Most of these samples were purchased, prizes, sent in gift packs or GWP.

  3. PS: I recently sampled Phaeton Hesperus at Osswald, and it’s gorgeous. Maybe a full bottle in my future, at least by next summer, which will be the perfect time for it.

    I follow APJ via email. The thing that I have most recently sampled and loved was an oil called Bad Witch by 13 Gypsies. Before that was Amouage, Memoir Woman. Unfortunately I can only afford the oil right now, so the Amouage will has been added to the long list.

    • For the first time in years I bought a FB unsniffed. So that is what I “sampled” yesterday! It was a cheap thrill, Casmir by Chopard. It will be perfect for winter, even if it is not as dense or eavy as expected. I follow by email. What a generous giveaway, again! I can see at least 14-15 samples I would love to try.

    I recently sampled Korrigan by Lubin, and I love it. Such a creamy scent. Also, the new musk oil by Dame Perfumery is very nice.

  33. I recently sampled Ginestet ‘Botrytis’. omg – honey, flowers, candied fruits for starters! Warm, comforting, loveliness for autumn. I have just managed to buy a bottle and it has now become my signature scent!

    I recently been testing Mona di Orio’s Vanille after getting a small decant of it. What a scent! Knocks my socks off, so far from what I think most of us think vanille is.
    I just wish it was a little les pirate rummy, the drydown however!!

  43. I recently purchased a roller ball perfume whilst overseas in KL as a gift for my niece – the new fragrance by MAC cosmetics – Turquatic . She was very happy with the scent and after sampling it for myself am having gift regret .. thinking should have kept it for myself ! 🙂 fresh , floral , citrusy summer scent.

    Finally sampled Tom Ford Black Orchid. It was an interesting journey that ended way too quickly for it to be full bottle worthy.

    The most interesting and wonderful scent I “sampled” recently (meaning I recognized the bottle at a thrift store and bought it immediately) is Issey Miyake Le Feu d’Issey. I find the scent highly addictive and though I haven’t yet worn it outside of my home, I so delight in smelling it that I keep it in a basket on the coffee table and take deep sniffs when I come home after a trying day.

  47. Hi Portia. It’s very generous of you to share the love like this.

    I was on holiday in the last week and travelled with some samples of springtime scents. The one that really impressed was Lys Mediterranee. This is such an unlikely winner for me: a white floral with an oceanic vibe that somehow overcomes my dislike for both of those genres. A warm weather winner that I really must buy one day.

    Recently, I tried and fell for Beaver by Zoologist, and Palo Santo by Carner Barcelona! The first is inspiring with the iris-musk combo note I love so much, and the second is a most comforting scent in the hectic job atmosphere I am facing these days!

    Let’s see, I just tried a bit of Baume du Doge and I don’t love it, but I’ve got it on two days in a row, and that is saying something! It attracts and repels me at different times, maybe that is the benzoin? I’m not early sure what that smells like…. Anyway, I follow via e-mail, thanks!

  56. I recently sampled ELdO Rien. It took a while for me to realize the burning notes over the leather were civet. I like it a lot, would definitely buy a full bottle after using up my sample.

    I recently sampled a bunch of lovelies: Guru Deva (natural saffron oud) and Kiste (spiced rum-soaked peaches) and Fruition (big red rose with red wine and red fruits) and Hymba (milky-woody powdery myrtle-sandalwood-earth)
