What am I wearing tonight for Christmas eve??

It’s all the incense, the woods and the dusty cool halls of old churches. Basically a memory scent for me and my Roman Catholic Nuns & Jesuits upbringing. Poised and calming, a beautiful fragrance to wear on this night.

Australian Perfume Junkies 
I’ll be in festive layers. A sturdy base of Shalimar body cream, a glorious middle layer of very vintage Shalimar EDC, topped with the gorgeous vintage Shalimar perfume. Most of all Shalimar reminds me of my Mum. Smelling and looking glamorous on Christmas Eve when I was a child. I will miss the members of my family who are no longer with us tonight, but I will cherish the members that are here. Be kind to each other. Love them with all your heart.

I ended up in Shalimar for Xmas lunch. The Vanille one in the gorgeous box that my mate Tim gave me. It was perfect. So SNAP girl!

Christmas Eve I will be wearing vintage Emeraude. Christmas day Wrappings. Wrappings was what I wore every holiday season in the 1990s. It’s nostalgic reminding me of slushy snow on Broadway , the avenue redolent of fir balsam smells emanating from the Christmas 🌲🌲🌲 being sold on the street. Years ago Wrappings was chock full of oakmoss but reformulation is equally as lovely. Day after Christmas will be scent twins with Marcella in vintage Shalimar. New Years Eve will be vintage 22 EDT for it’s beautiful Incense and white flowers.
I am ever so grateful to you Portia for creating this beautiful space for us to come together and share not just our love of fragrance but friendship and belly laughs.

For me, festivals are usually not much different from ordinary days so I dont celebrate them in anyway different than an average day 🙂 In other words, I will choose a fragrance randomly.

Ooh, I love Sancti, have a decant. I wore a lethal dose of PdE Wazamba yesterday, today it’s a more restrained dose of Tonka Impériale. Tonight will be vintage extrait Nuit de Noël. Finally sunny this morning after buckets of rain last night. So grateful for my family, friends, and your wonderful blog Portia!! Merry Christmas everyone! I’m off to a big multicultural Christmas. This year we have 6 countries and 4 religions represented as we have an outdoor Aussie Christmas day in the heat. We’ll be throwing some bulgogi on the barbie. I’ll be wearing Chanel no. 5. L’eau, the BEAUTIFUL red bottle that I was surprise gifted last year for Christmas. I love that red so much, it is very Christmassy to me 🙂 And after wearing every iteration of No. 5 over the years I think L’eau is now a favorite!

I’m wearing some gorgeous Tantra, got a lovely bottle in time for Christmas. Thankyou Portia . I’m wearing it because it’s beautiful and makes me feel good. It makes me think of, and be grateful for, all the good people and things that I do have, not those people and things that I want., We’ve just had Christmas dinner, am all cleaned up and have had a couple of Bono’s that I normally never drink. We went to a special street in the town next to ours where most of the houses are specially decorated for Christmas. It was so beautiful! Then came home and toasted our Christmas cat’s (Rusty) birthday and streamed a couple of Christmas episodes of favorite shows. I wore Amouage Gold. I really love this perfume.

I wore Dior Mitzah for Christmas Eve. It shows its nuances much better on warm skin, so now I understand better why it is a huge love for some of you. Wearing Equistrius today. A more low key celebration today after loads of food and presents yesterday.

Dinner with my husband an my family, nieces, nephew, they’re growing up into lovely human beings. Singing Christmas carols round the piano. I wore Lustre, one of my nieces commented on how good I smelled. Love and joy come to you!

All zenned out after a pretty relaxing day. Dinner was a big success and I’m happy to say I didn’t stuff myself silly. Wore Fragile. Have just ordered myself a couple of Sylvaine Delacourt sample sets – Orange Blossom and Vanilla. They will be here waiting for me when I get back from new year’s break. Yippee.
