Hey there fellow perfume lovers! How are you all doing?
Please forgive me. I had grand plans of reviewing something for you this week, but I had an unfortunate encounter with some serious gluten upon my arrival and I cannot stand any perfume or strong smells. My poor tummy is in agony here.

Hi APJ! How is everyone doing?
As you read this I will be packing up my home in Rotterdam. We have had an amazing two years here in the Netherlands and will miss so many people and places. It has been a truly wonderful experience for me.

Happy New Year APJ! I cannot quite believe that we are now in the year 2019. It was only yesterday that we rang in the year 2000. How time flies! Especially as I get older it seems to pass by me at lightening speed.
We had a quiet Christmas and New Year this year, which is just what the doctor ordered. Family time is cherished and we managed to spend a lot of quality time together learning new games and playing cards together. As the holidays are now over, I can sit back and reflect on what passed and what is to come.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Vacation, dear APJ!
I hope everyone is enjoying a day off and having some relaxation at home. The holidays can be a stressful time of the year for many, including myself. I have vowed however to sit back and enjoy the day as it unfolds here in Rotterdam. We are together for the next two weeks and we will be enjoying quality family time and good food with festive cheer here and there.

As I recuperate from pneumonia (and cannot wear any fragrance), I would like to share a deeply personal story with you.
Adoption is a beautiful experience. It has touched my life in the most miraculous ways imaginable. You will hear it time and again though that adoption is not for everybody, but hear my story and maybe this will change your mind.
About 13 years ago, long before I was a perfume addict, my husband and I, after a couple of years of trying to have a baby, decided to adopt a child. We were naive about the process, what it all entailed and we had no idea where to begin our journey.

Hey, hey APJ! How is everyone doing?
Let’s just get right to it and not beat around the bush here! I have no new perfume review, no old perfume review. As soon as it got colder, my lingering sinusitis (since July) exploded leaving me with no sense of smell and intense facial pain. I was first prescribed saline washes back in August. As that did not work, the doctor then prescribed cortisone. Only when I went back with excruciating facial pain did the doctor take a second look and finally prescribed a month of antibiotics and continued cortisone. Ugh…

Hello dear APJ! How are you doing?
Can you believe that Halloween is already here again? Halloween is when My mind switches into holiday mode. I can decorate for Halloween, celebrate Thanksgiving with my family and enjoy Christmas and New Year’s. It is a busy time of the year for most of us and I love every moment of it.
Florists around town are showing their most glorious bouquets all in the deep rich hues that I associate with autumn. The reds, oranges, yellows and purples are lovingly displayed and it is near impossible to not stop and drool. This is also the time of the year that we are greeted with stunning sunrises and sunsets where the skies are burning on fire.
Throughout the house I place autumnal accents in the form of candles, table cloths and flowers adding pops of colour here and there. My weekly meal plans get altered as I add spicy soups and pumpkin muffins full of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.
The other day as I was cleaning up the house, I decided to go shopping in my perfume wardrobe.

Fall is a time when the mornings are cool, almost cold, but the days can still get really warm, sometimes hot. I have the darndest of times figuring out what to wear. My best bet is to layer up and peel the layers off as the days get warm.

Autumn, my favorite season of the year, has arrived in all of its glory. The days are getting noticeably shorter and yet the sun can be so warming on my face. As the leaves start to morph into their various shades of yellow, orange and crimson, the low lying sun kisses them with a warmth of gold making the sunny days an endless joy to be outside.
