Hello Lovers of Smooth!

Yesterday I went down to the Libertine and Agence de Parfum 2018 new Australian winter releases. They are bringing a bunch of great stuff down here and we got to spend some quality time learning the ropes. I will be writing an event review tomorrow for you all. There were a few new scents that I really liked and one of them was 1976. It was funny, when Ainslie Walker and I were sniffing it she turned to me and said, “This is so YOU!” Then it was the bottle she was given in my goodie bag so she gave it to me! How freaking nice is that? Continue reading

Hey there dear APJ readers! How are you doing?

There comes a time in February when I can start to feel the seasonal changes that are about to come. Let me try to explain. Since November, we leave the house in the dark in the morning. It is still dark when we get to school and only after I leave the school do I see the sunrise. Well, this past week (first week of February) we saw the sun rise Continue reading

Hi Fumies,

Australia has had a few niche perfume lines. The first I fell in love with was the Tommi Sooni range, which I only bought two of the bottles and now wish I’d bought the range and backups. We also have a few very talented natural perfumeries like One Seed. So it’s exciting when a new brand comes along and brings a very Australian feel to the noble French art of perfumery. Goldfield & Banks are named for our historic goldrushes and first European botanist Joseph Banks. Did you know that Australia’s sandalwood (Santalum spitacum) used to be a marker for gold rich areas? Me too. Continue reading

Hello Fellow Fumies,

Every Saturday we have a Question, an idea purloined from Olfactoria’s Travels. Everyone gets to chime in with an answer, chat with other responders and it is a fun event each week. Taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.

The idea is you’ll see it on the weekend or chime in through the week. Hopefully you will come back and see if anyone has responded to your comment and you can reply to them.

Hello perfumed friends!

Today, I want to share something quite exciting with you. Last month, I was honoured to host the first ever Australian event for the perfume house, Le Jardin Retrouve. A few friends gathered at my home and we connected live to the brand’s Paris boutique where the now owners of the line, Michel Gutsatz and his wife Clara Feder took us through the brand’s history and recent relaunch before a live sniff of the brand’s seven scents.

Hi there Perfume Lovers,

Jin and I were away, driving around Europe last year, when we met one of our girlfriends in Hanover and we all spent three fabulous days discovering the city. It was ripe with stuff to see including a lift that goes around the interior of their church or town hall (sorry, it was broken and we never got a ride) and the Niki de Saint Phalle sculptures dotted around the town and in their gallery, tulips and daffodils galore and a very nice shopping district.
