Here It Comes!!
A new year! 2015. Which adds up to 8 in numerology, excellent number 8. Not only is it lucky but it looks like infinity and they say if you start things in an 8 year that they are more likely to succeed. Maybe that’s true.

Before we get to the resolutions and wishes you’ll be asking what I will be wearing to New Years Eve for 2015? The answer is Liberte by Cacharel, its fun and fizzy BarBQ citrus is exactly what I would like to smell like to ring in the new year. What will you be wearing and why?
NEW YEAR COMING: Welcome 2015!

Let’s take a little moment to reflect on 2014 and the years before it, are there some repeat bad choices, ways of acting or reacting, or even outlooks that could do with some fine tuning? How can we make our close environment a better place or less toxic? What about the greater environment, are there things we can do to help?
Portia’s 2015 New Years Resolution
Seriously try to minimise my footprint on this beautiful earth. Already we recycle, we upcycle to charity in the forms of unwanted clothes and furniture, we buy about as much as we can eat and use (except in my fragrance addiction), by using public transport and our motor bikes more we are minimising our fuel consumption and I am going to cut down my meat consumption a little too, maybe save it for eating out. We are also committing to a travel moratorium except to see Jin’s family.
Another resolution is that I will try to be more content with my amazing life. Also to treat the wonderful people I get to live it with as well as they deserve.
I will continue to cull the people and situations from my life that are toxic. If my life is full of rubbish then there’s no room for amazing to come along. Definitely trying for a life filled with as much amazing as possible.
2015 is a year where I will try to cut myself a little slack. I will try and forgive myself the mistakes I have and will make and let them go. Learn from them and move on.

New Year Wishes
What I wish for all you wonderful APJ family is a year filled with peace and prosperity, a year where only our good dreams come true, a year where we are productive and acknowledged for our hard work, a year at the end of which we can sit back between Christmas and New Year and be proud of our achievements and content where we are in our life. I wish for us all a year where every day we have something to be grateful for and that there are some people in out circles that are grateful that they have us.
I am proud to be among you as a friend and fragrance buddy. Thank you for sharing your time, hobby, passion and life.
Sending out a huge cyber hug to you all.
Happy New Year

I was wearing 5 o’clock au gingembre, but it now doesn’t feel right for this evening. So still undecided.
I do not usually make resolutions for New Year but will try to be less Grumpy generally!
Portia I have enjoyed being part of the APJ family this year, I have learned a lot and you lift my spirits each day.
You are probably the only person whose cyber hug I can actually feel!
Happy 2015!

Portia, I loved your comment “If my life is full of rubbish then there’s no room for amazing to come along.” My life is full of a lot of rubbish right now. 2015 will definitely be a year to make some positive changes. Thanks to you and everyone at APJ for sharing your time and knowledge with us. You always brighten my day and never fail to keep me inspired. Happy New Year to you, Jin, and everyone else at APJ!

Terrific post. My family is trying to minimize our footprint by riding bikes and eating less meat. We are discussing growing our on veggies. My neighborhood is discussing a community garden.

WOW Katherine,
We sold the house last year which had veggie patches and citrus. I miss it heaps.
There are currently herbs growing on the balcony and Spathiphyllum to clean as much air as possible
Good luck with your minimisation.

Happy New Year ALL! I’ll pull out my Liberte too but I will have to be heavy handed today and give myself a couple of extra sprays. The reason: We are back home and Brad and son Alex are making their New Year Brew. The smell of the malt and wart is wafting upstairs and permeating everything. The brewmeisters are in action. I’m off to take photos. Yeah for 2015!

Hi Portia. Such great sentiments for 2015 and I always find your posts really uplifting.
I also want to cut down on my meat consumption and eat more vegetarian meals with the family and start a vege garden. And like you said it’s always good to appreciate what we actually have and be thankful for this. When I’m feeling down I always look at my children and realise what a precious gift they are for me.
It’s time to ramp things up for me in 2015!
A very Happy New Years to you, Jin and your crew. x x x

I’m definitely hoping for amazing in 2015 and I’ll be wearing Thierry Mugler’s Oriental Express tonight. Love the herby opening and then the hit of flower that is supposed to be iris, I think, but smells like violets to me. Wishing you and Jin a very happy New Year. Thank you for all the joy, laughs, and thoughtful observations you have brought to us via APJ this past year. Long may you reign.

It has been my great pleasure to have slowly peeked out of the perfume closet this year, and meet such lovely, interesting and most of all, hilarious people who share the same passion that I do!
I am wearing Sycomore by Chanel AGAIN, because I am obsessed with it this week, and so it goes….Happy 2015 dear ones, health, prosperity, and clarity are on their way! Xoxo

What a sensationally elegant fragrance you chose, all that vetiver and attendant curlicues. Exactly what I would picture you wearing to an event.
In 2015 and beyond I wish you good health. Be well my friend.

Hugs and a Happy New Year to y’all (I’m from Texas – we say “y’all” here). Not sure what I’ll be wearing – hubby has a cold and I’m just out of a brief trip to the hospital for SI joint injections, so we will not be going “out” – perhaps to church, but no parties for us this year. And that’s fine…I think I will apply BV Knot later – it’s such a happy scent and that’s a great way to start 2015!

Maggiecat,
Church is a party. You’ll get to see people you know and have a sing and commune with higher powers. Sounds like a party to me.
BV Knot, lovely. Jin tried it the other day and we liked the opening very much but were shopping so didn’t really get to follow the ride. I will do so in 2015. It’s very joyful to me that a new mainstream house is doing so well. I think they’re on a winner.

Happy New Year to all the APJ! Your words are, as always, inspiring. My resolution this year is to be a better version of me, and if I can’t actually rid myself of the toxic at this time, not to let it eat away at me, as resentment was making me feel bad about myself.
I haven’t yet decided on my SOTE, but am leaning towards either Thierry Mugler Alien Essence Absolue or L’Artisan Traversée du Bosphore. Maybe the Alien EA, and I’ll layer a little A Wing and a Prayer Sunday over it later, for some eggnoggy goodness.
Looking forward to a wonderful 2015,

There is always next year and I do think that anything we do better is a very good start.
