Hello Australian Perfume Junkies and friends, So glad to have you drop by Scent Diary. Grab a cuppa or beverage of choice, sit back and check what has happened, been eaten, spritzed and seen in our lives in Sydney, Australia.
At then end please leave us some comments. What or who did you see, do, eat with. Did you spritz, purchase, have arrivals or finish a sample? What’s happening in your world? If you’re writing or reading opinions, we can disagree but keep it nice and try not to give or take offense. Right now the world needs a web of friendships and connection more than ever. We all have perfume and each other in common. That’s a whole lot.

Up early and out to the station.
Dries Van Noten Rock the Myrrhe

We arrived at Seoul Station to catch the bullet train to Busan and there was no queue at the mochi shop. Jin grabbed some. We had one each on the train. O M G! Seriously fabulous. Believe the hype.

Lunchtime in Busan. Cold spicy noodles. So good.

We headed up to a now famous hillside community that has become a major tourist trap. Wandered, had coffee and met some lovely kids from the Balkans.

Headed off to the implant doctor. Got pictured and ct scanned. Tomorrow we begin.
Flurry of family, dinner, catch ups. So nice.
Tuesday
Up early
bathhouse
Breakfast
Met Jin’s childhood bestie for a cuppa
Off to the implant doctor
Having a peppermint tea to calm down before the adventure

Here’s the thing. I was in a world of painkillers and worry after they had unexpected problems and could only do one side. There was residual infection that had to be cauterised and the two implant plugs to be fitted with a sinus lift and bone graft. See below for after shot.
so the next few days are just photos and a few small bits of info. I have barely and recollection of events till Friday.
After the surgery we met Jin’s buddy Kinam for dinner. Obviously I didn’t eat or drink because I was holding g the ball of gauze tight in my jaw to prevent collapse and gore splattering everywhere.

Wednesday
Went to a temple. No memory really.

Thursday
We were up and out of the house super early. Flew with Vietnam Airlines to Hanoi then on to Bangkok. Jin had got us all unbelievably cheap return deals. It was comfortable and lovely to be with the family.
i may have headed for the Hermès stand

Jin and I went out and grabbed some takeaway Thai. We all ate and then lazed before bed.
Friday
Jin and I hit the food market next to our airbnb and he grabbed this fabulous fish and seafood Thai street food breakfast. I don’t like seafood so grabbed a bunch of asparagus and a ham cheese toasty. Everyone was happy.

Saturday
We had the laziest morning. Jin, Mum and I went and grabbed breakfast for everyone.
then we headed out to the very Ra Sha Sha mall. It has a sky garden. So beautifully manicured and full of water, running, falling and sitting still with fish. Heavenly.

Scary when the barista understands you better than most.

Got to smell some Thai fragrance. Not groundbreaking but solid reimaginings of blockbusters without being dupes.
Jin’s dad has never owned fashion or seen the need to. He’s a proud man and has provided a lifetime and lives for the family. He never lets Jin buy him stuff. Today he tried this Calvin Klein jacket on and we could tell how much he loved it. So, it’s the first designer piece of his life. Jin was so thrilled. Mum was in shock, also thrilled. Dad looked smooth AF. See below.

Want to hear about a fancy mall. The food court restaurants have Michelin stars! We ate like paupers visiting kings.
After lunch wandered the mall for a couple of hours. We went back to tumi and I tried the backpack on again. So fabulous but also SO EXPENSIVE

Of course, Jin was so worried about making sure we all ate enough and got what we wanted that he tasted everything but was still hungry.
McDonald’s to the rescue. BTW never have coffee and orange juice. What the actual…

Went home, napped, swam.
Tonight it was 50th Wedding Anniversary dinner. Bought for us all by Aunty Emo. It was fun. Korean food was excellent.
Afterwards we came home and had cake and candles. It was cute.

Sunday
This morning was cool and had a beautiful breeze. Jin and I headed out to get some street food breakfast for the crew. I love that we do breakfast together each day.

We headed out to see the old temple and the modern palace and emerald Buddha. It was so hot and humid that the adventure with a million other humans all packed together was decidedly uncomfortable.

it was amazing but so squishy I took only three shots and didn’t take one of the emerald Buddha. Soz.
Straight home. Nap
INow it’s your turn. Please tell us something you did, spritzed, ate, wore, bought or finished. Maybe you saw a friend, a show, an exhibition. Maybe you got through the week without having to bury a body. Whatever, please share something with us.
I read and respond to every comment. C’mon, let’s chat.
