Scent Diary: 21.9-27.9.2026
Monday
I was up VERY late watching TV. So slept through my Aquarobics classes. Got up and discovered spring is a bouncing around here in Sydney. Sunshine, warmth and a beautiful breeze. Took Momo straight out for a wee.

Came in to start my Trivia Q&A but lost an hour or so to social media and blogs. No drama.
NOPE! I’m starving. Had lunch. Forgot to take a pic. Soz. Chicken, Carrot, Onion, Hummus Sandwiches. Y U M !
OK, It’s nearly 1pm and I’m finally ready to Trivia Q&A.
Thank everything I had quite a bit of the work already done for this weeks Trivia Q&A. I sat here at the computer with no break or even stand ups and went into flow state. It was like the work was already in my head, I just needed to get it into the computer. Written, printed, emailed to the Queens all before 4.30pm.
Celebrated by opening a new arrival, Obvious Parfums Un Oud. Not a bad synthetic oud. Comfortable, spicy, fungal wood and not a combat zone.
Fed and walked Momo. She was bloody starving. Poor baby.
Read. Chilled.
Jin and I went to the aquatic centre. Jin hit the Body Balance class and gym. I did an AquaZumba class.

Tuesday
Morning Routine: 10 Minutes.
Today is cool and grey. Momo was positively frisky on our early walk this morning.

Doing the laundry. Dusting. May vacuum, may not. Let’s see.
Hit the Post Office, there were a few parcels. Nothing perfumed.
Got some blogging done. Social media and emails.
Home. Lunched. Ham & Salad Toasted Bagel. MMMM
Laundry.
Fed Momo. Took her for a wander in the very London-like spitting mist and chilly wind. Beautiful and refreshing. That is the face of a happy pooch.
Jin came home while I was hanging laundry. He’s off to meet a mate.

Morning Routine: 10 Minutes.
Histoires de Parfums 1969
It’s a cool and cloudy morning. I have a very long list of tasks. Which will probably get ignored. My head is just not in the game.
Last load of laundry for the week. Folding some of the dry stuff
Lunch was same as yesterday Toasted Bagel with Ham & Salad. YUM!
Gisella, who is our girlfriend and lives upstairs, and I did some planting in our backyard strip. We have had some deaths back there over winter and I wanted to give some extra fullness to the established plants. I bought some tube stock because they tend to naturalize and jump start better.
There are four new Leptospermum Starry Night. It’s a beautiful Aussie native that the pollinators adore, doesn’t grow very tall but can broaden out a couple of meters.
One Camellia sasanqua Sparkling Burgundy (three have died while waiting to be replanted, damnit!). It looks bright pink here but the flowers are a pinkish red purple. Fingers crossed we have some success.

Morning Routine: 10 Minutes.

Fed and walked Momo. The spring wildflowers are blooming in the cemetery.
Post Office run. Nothing fragrant. Grabbed a roast chook from the supermarket for lunch tomorrow.
Made some lunch. Carrot sticks and French Onion Dip. HA! PLUS, against all good health and diabetes recommendations I ate an Iced Doughnut with sprinkles. GAH! So good.
Guess which film I decided to watch some of, curled up with Momo on the couch?

A crew of us went to Wentworth Park Greyhound races tonight. Betty, Gisella, Jin and I arrived super early so we snuck off for dumplings. Phil joined us there but I forgot to take a pic with all five of us.
It was a fun crew. Many had never been to the Greyhounds live. The track closes next month so it was a fond farewell for us. We even ran into the trainer who had given us Jinx and Paris. His dog came 5th but he told us it would. Jin did our betting and we won or placed in almost every race. Very cool.
There was hardly anyone else at the venue. We had a party all to ourselves. HEAVEN.

The sun is shining so brightly today on my 58th Birthday. I spent the morning making Mum’s Chicken Salad sandwich filling. Headed down to the supermarket to grab a few extra things.
On the way to lunch I picked up Aunty Ann and we met BFF Kath at work. We had a little picnic in the shade.
Home. Quick ablutions.
Jin arrived and fell asleep on the couch.
Serge Lutens Five O’Clock au Gingembre. A perfect fit for a cool Spring night with a full moon and out with my love.
Off to town. Jin drove. Look at that moon!
Jin booked early parking so we could go find some dinner.
Woo Hoo! Tried a brand new Vietnamese. The food was ENORMOUS and the couple that run it so sweet and friendly.
Then we went to Dracula the ballet. It’s a classical juke boxscore, with many of the long time favourite pieces combined into a story. The emphasis was on lifts and tricks, and gymnastic athleticism. There was some lovely dancing from the four ghostesses. They stole the show and every time they hit the stage the whole rooms energy lifted. Also the second lead man floated through the air. He did some really astounding things and made them all look easy, and beautiful. Set, costume and music all good. I came out satisfied.

Obviously NOTHING ELSE GOT DONE!
Jin came home, took ownership of the couch and pooch. Slept happily for a couple of hours.
When he awoke we spent a lovely hour opening everyone’s gifts. What a sensational bunch of loveliness. A couple of fragrant ones included… and SOCKS!

The Harvest Moon was absolutely stunning this evening.
Then we headed offf for dinner with a few of my mates since teenage years. As we were pulling out of the apartment block Gisella came home so we grabbed her too. Eve and her Mum, Rebecca (one of my teenage girlfriends), Craig (who was a serious heart throb during our school formal years) and his lovely wife Linda. We hit the Freeway Hotel, where I’m hoping we will get a new Trivia soon. It was a lovely evening, so much chatter and catch up. We even got up to dance to the live, one man band.

Morning Routine: 10 Minutes.
Jin is already up and on the couch with Momo. These two are the happiest on Sunday morning. It’s Jin’s first day off of the weekend.

Weather grey and cool.
Fed and walked Momo.
Came here to do some Scent Diary updating.
Jin decided we needed to go back to the Parramatta Park Wisteria walk before they are done. It’s raining so we were almost the only people there. HEAVEN!
Afterwards we headed over to our favourite Japanese All You Can Eat A La Carte restaurant Okami. We met Kath and TinaG there. Food was consumed. Outrageous amounts. So delicious.

It was busy and fun. There was a HUGE Birthday Cake! I’ve never seen anything like it. Eve Greentree bought and brought it. The whole venue got some and I brought some home to share with our mates in the building. Emma did the birthday AI and took the photo.
