I’m going to guess cologne-y because of the citrus opening. I’ve got a bottle and I’ve never once thought I smelled calone but everybody’s sniffer is different.

Oh man, Vanille Tonka… that was the first split I ever bought (and the first blog review I wrote, as well). Loved it. And I’m not going to whine about the last bottle I bought before realizing it had been refo’ed and how much it changed before PdN axed it without mercy. Totally without MERCY, y’all. Gah. I haven’t even gotten it out since the weather got cold.
Okay, maybe I will whine a little bit. See, I hear you about that beautiful citrus (and I’m not even a big citrus fan!), but it used to have this gorgeous, happy-happy lime opening that made me giggle. And it used to have this wonderful carnationy-clovey thing going on as well. It smelled, in fact, like a Cuba Libre made with Capt. Morgan spiced rum, with a big lime wedge, and it was just So Much Fun. It’s still very good, mind, and I love your “shiny, like polished brass” description.
Have a blast on the trip, and travel safely. Mwah.

I have Vanille Tonka. I wore it recently actually. I’ve gone through far more than I thought I would. I have to really overspray to get it to last a few hours. On me it’s cologne-y in the longevity.

Ah, Interesting Poodle. Scent eating skin is a bummer and its weird to me that this one goes so quick on you. Extra spritzing is fun though, isn’t it. Feels absolutely decadent.
