You’ve probably seen it already but I wanted to put it up just in case you’d missed it. Lady Gaga has released her Steven Klein photographed advertisement for her forthcoming fragrance, FAME. The scentbloggosphere has gone CER AAY ZEEE!! I am seriously impressed with the image, it shows wit and style. It also shows what a remarkable business woman she is. What’s the demographic? Girls and gays, BINGO! This will have a multitude of both enthralled. I am sad my mate Perry couldn’t swipe me some FAME to pre-release sample but life is like that. Can’t wait! And below it a short enticing film about the fragrance being made. She is AWESOME! Laughing all the way to the bank…… (Just noticed CandyPerfumeBoy beat me to it, GRRR!)

Big congrats on your new views milestone! A few more videos should get you up to your birthday goal.
The two fragrance houses you highlighted this week were the very different from each other Smell Bent and Tommi Sooni. While I love the fun aspect of Smell Bent’s approach (and website), and am very intrigued by the fact that nitro musk is an element of Apres Soleil, I really appreciate the elegant, thoughtful, one-scent-at-a-time approach of the Tommi Sooni house. Each of their scents sounds wonderful and focussed rather than grab-a-trend.
As for FAME: I’m annoyed (but not overly surprised) by much of the North American commentary on the print ad and the video. Gulliver and the Lilliputians works for me (more so in light of the whingeing) and, as much as I love those elegant videos by Chanel’s Jacques Polge, I thought the FAME video was hilarious. Can’t imagine the fragrance living up to the hopes, but maybe she can sell that too, ie “What were you expecting? Celebrity scents are rarely great.”

My mate Perry said the fragrance is solid, she smells awesome. Probably one of the few celebs who has been wearing her celebuscent non stop to get it right.

I haven’t tried any Smell Bents, although they sound intriguing. I’ve liked every Tommi Sooni I’ve tried, and the Passerelle sounds wonderful.
I do have poorish eyesight, but every time I see that Gaga photo, I think at first she has huntsmen spiders crawling all over her. It gives me the creeps.

They are the hottest huntsman spiders ever. We get quite a lot of those here in leafy Sydney, they tend to populate cars here and surprise you at awkward moments. Scare the living shit out of you.

ok, im in too….. Tommi Sooni, and Smell Bent……. but i have to say, the hairs are still standing up on the back of my neck after watching the GaGa Ad….. I LOVE HER!!!!!! the french accent is of course totally seducing, but to describe the scent as PULVERISED APRICOT, CRUSHED HEART OF TIGER ORCHIDEA AND TEARS OF BELLADONNA is, in my mind, pure genius!
