Pussy Water + Kittens Photo Essay

Hi there APJ,

Who can resist kittens! They are so cute, cuddly and gorgeous. We used to have cats as kids but since greyhounds and fostering them has happened in my life there seems no room, so safe room anyway, to fit them in my life. Oh well cutesy pictures and videos will have to fill the void.

Enjoy

NSFW! Put HEADPHONES on. I found this very naughty but quite amusing Perfume Ad while trollng around YouTube, or maybe someone sent it to me? Oh well, can’t remember but I nearly spat my coffee at the screen when I saw this.

  1. I didn’t know you were involved in Greyhound adoption too !! I have had greys for over 12 years, and I am currently bossed about by Ripley (4 yr old brindle male) Beaker (7 year old back male) and Oliver (6 month brindle Galgo pup). They are wonderful doggies, aren’t they .

      Yay! Another greyhound adopter.
I have 13 year old Gucci and my BFF brought a rescued Cocker Spaniel into the house which has taken us nearly 18 months to get him ready so we can foster another grey and teach it how to live. When we get back from Korea it will be happening.

  2. This whole post, kitties and pussy water, is perfect (purrfect – sorry) for a young friend of ours. Even as she settles into her almost conventional life, she always makes a point of trying to surprise me with something a little outrageous.

Wow, Portia! You foster dogs! I believe that our almost perfect dog Fender (a rescue) learned his good manners from the people who fostered him. Obviously he is not a grey – more of a Havanese mix – but the people who cared for him right after he was rescued really knew what they were doing! I have had dogs in my life every day for almost 40 years and Fender, through no fault of mine, is the best trained of all. Thanks to all the people who are willing to open their homes to help the neglected and abused.

    • That’s a lovely story Azar,
The great thing about foster dogs is that they are ready and willing, and HOPING, to get some structure in their lives. They are past the chew, wee and poo stage and are generally incredibly easy to help become almost perfect pets. We had so much trouble with the Cocker Spaniel that we needed a dog whisperer to come. Now he is a gem we can start our fostering again. I am super excited.
Being a foster for greyhounds is one of the most gratifying and rewarding hobbies I’ve had.
      You should try it Azar.

  3. Portia,
We’ve always wanted to visit Korea! Maybe we will get there someday. As Tina says, enjoy the journey, the soju and the kimchi soup and of course the visit to Jeju!

  4. This commercial – oh my god! Haha! I wonder if they got the concept from Salvador Dali? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Greyhound rescue – I’ve always thought that was such a wonderful idea, and they are such beautiful, sweet creatures. I thought of doing it one day when we get a bigger place.

Korea!! I dream of visiting one day. I’m a big fan of the dramas ๐Ÿ™‚ Love the food – love kimchi – the soju, not so much. There are definitely more enjoyable ways of poisoning myself, haha! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • MaryP,
I started doing my greyhound fostering in a 2nd floor, 2 bedroom apartment. Greyhounds are used to living their lives alone in a 3m square cage with only short times training on the track. They had beds on the balcony and would spend their time while I was working or sleeping out there.
2 short walks a day to let them sniff and toilet and they were happy. While I was home and awake they had a special foam single bed mattress that they would have as their couch. They were loved, fed, cuddled and extremely happy.

  5. Lol. That is wrong on so many levels. I love it! Too damn funny!
We used to have two Greys. Now it’s the poodles and the whippet. Hubby volunteers at the greyhound kennel every week. Maybe someday we’ll get another. They are such lazy dogs and pretty low maintenance.

    • WOW Poodle,
You too. Did I tell you that Mum told me I could have ONLY Poodles for the rest of my life while in her morphine haze on her deathbed. Another reason I started having greyhounds was that they were the closest to her crazy dream that I was going to be able to care for reliably.
      Your husband deserves a medal.
Totally lazy, easy to manage sweeties, the greyhounds.

  6. Pussy Water is nice : not too aldehydic, quite animalic. No flowers, just some sea air in the drydown, recalling the smell of oysters and mussels…
But you need to try Sperm Extrait de Parfum, which is even better, a true modern masterpiece.

  7. Portia…I didn’t know you rescue greyhounds. I had two rescued greys and they were the sweetest dogs. I also had three cats at the time. The greyhounds were cat friendly but the cats weren’t greyhound friendly. It was hilarious watching my tiny 6 pound cat run the dogs around the house. I miss them. Give some love to your current ones for me ๐Ÿ™‚

    • YAY! It seems there is a perfume/Greyhound connection. That makes me really happy Kandice. I would LOVE to see boss kitty. We recently had a friends young cat taken by a badly managed greyhound, not ours thankfully, sad for everyone. I don’t want to put any temptation in the new guys way.

      • No, not smart if you’re fostering. We made sure both greyhounds were safe with cats before we brought them home. Unfortunately, that was awhile back and both greyhounds and “boss” kitty are now gone. The cat, Sheba, was a tiny thing, with a heart shaped nose (so cute), who would run after the 80 pound greyhounds and swat them on the legs to get them to go in the direction she wanted. It was hilarious! But always better to be safe when combining greys with cats. Love to yours!

I’ve been to Korea a few times. A long time ago now but the shopping was great then. ๐Ÿ™‚ Try hoddeok while you are there!

    • Hi there Jackie,
Greys are completely sweet, babysitting must have been terrific, they like everyone.
Yes, Jin is always talking about what Korea did first and other countries stole. They are forever underdogs if Jin is anything to go by.
South Korea is the least asian of the countries in Asia I’ve been to. Very westernised, though only English in the larger towns. It’s good to have a hometown boy on side.
