Hello Fellow Fumies,

At APJ we have a Saturday Question. Everyone gets to chime in with an answer, chat with other responders and it’s a fun event each week. Taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.

The idea is you’ll see it on the weekend or chime in through the week. Hopefully you will come back regularly and see if anyone has responded to your comment and you can reply to them. The aim is to generate real conversation and connection even though we are scattered around the globe.

Hey there APJ!

Welcome to 2020.  New year, new direction.  I am not doing written perfume reviews any more.  Well, that is not quite true.  Once in a while IF I find something that I think amazing, then I will.   What I am gonna do is pick perfumes and the review will be contained in  the two or three photos.  Add a line or two, job done.

Hi APJ,

A SOTD (Scent Of The Day) thread is a really good conversation generator. The idea is you’ll chime in through the week with whatever scent you are wearing. You don’t need to be super knowledgable, have high faluting tastes or be a published author to comment. Just tell us what fragrance you’re wearing, smelling, buying etc. and how it makes you feel and/or anything else about it that tickles your fancy.

You can also comment on everyone else choices too. It’s great to tell someone how much you love their choice, ask for more info about it, the house or perfumer. There’s someone here from around the world 24/7 and perfume people love to chat.

Hey there APJ,

It’s Mood Scent 4 week. WOO HOO! With the first Monday of the dawning of a new decade we thought we might take a little look back at some of our favourite perfumes that haven’t made it this far. Our great loves that have been discontinued. Now I’m also counting reformulations that changed the scent out of recognisable parameters because that fragrance I loved has been killed off just as much. Same outcome, my perfume is dead.

So excited to be blogging with these three superstars again:  Esperanza L’Esperessence, Megan Megan In Sainte Maxime and Samantha I Scent You A Day. Check theirs out too.

Thank You 2019

Hello APJ,

Another year has passed us by. A decade is coming to a close. There has been joy, pain, highs and lows, wins and learning. What a roller coaster the last 10 years has been, even the last 12 months. Believe me, I know I’m one of the luckiest people on earth. It’s been so much more sunshine than pain.

Thank you for all of it. What a ride.

No matter who you are or how you’re doing we are so glad that you are a part of the Australian Perfume Junkies family. Contributors, commenters, lurkers and perfume lovers everywhere. We salute and embrace you and wish you prosperity, chances, choices and a little bit of good luck as you head into the 20s.

Tonight I’m hanging with Kath & Alice while Jin works. We are at home on the couch, eating enormous amounts of food, watching TV and enjoying the laziest New Year Celebration ever.

Whatever you do, stay safe, treat yourself and those around you with respect even if they’re annoying as fuck. Have a wonderful end to 2019 and a 2020 in which you can be proud of yourself.
