Hello Fellow Fumies,

At APJ we have a Saturday Question. Everyone gets to chime in with an answer, chat with other responders and it’s a fun event each week. Taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.

The idea is you’ll see it on the weekend or chime in through the week. Hopefully you will come back regularly and see if anyone has responded to your comment and you can reply to them. The aim is to generate real conversation and connection even though we are scattered around the globe.

Hey APJ Peeps

It is so damn hot here I can hardly think, let alone consider how my new bottle of Chanel N°18 smells.   I had a large decant of the N°18 EdT, and I have enjoyed wearing it off and on over the last four months or so.  And then the “enjoyed” turned into an absolute “I have to have a bottle of this stuff and I know it is not available any more so let’s get the EdP immediately I have heard such good things about it” mode.

How have you been?

I don’t know about you, but it has taken me years to come to fully appreciate Guerlain’s Shalimar and some of its flankers. I am not sure what put me off of it for so long, but about a year and a half ago it was as if a light switch went off in my head. Hi APJ,

A SOTD (Scent Of The Day) thread is a really good conversation generator. The idea is you’ll chime in through the week with whatever scent you are wearing. You don’t need to be super knowledgable, have high faluting tastes or be a published author to comment. Just tell us what fragrance you’re wearing, smelling, buying etc. and how it makes you feel and/or anything else about it that tickles your fancy.

You can also comment on everyone else choices too. It’s great to tell someone how much you love their choice, ask for more info about it, the house or perfumer. There’s someone here from around the world 24/7 and perfume people love to chat.

My mate Thierry from City Perfume has an exclusive range in store currently. It’s the Shakespeare Perfume range and it is seeing like hot cakes. Though the brand is not doing outrageous, challenging or ground breaking fragrances it is making wearable and comfortable scents just a cut above the designer and much of the niche. Hello Perfume Lovers,

There is a rule of thumb in business. The sales staff should be engaging, attractive helps too. No matter what you’re selling if people are engaged by you it will go much easier.

The creative director of fragrance at P. Frapin & Cie is David Frossard. David is both engaging and extremely attractive. Sharp, quick, easy going and passionate with a very French nonchalance. Watching him sell his product was a masterclass is room manipulation and we ate it up. It helped that the new frags smelled good but seriously, he could have handed me a plate full of cow poo and I would have been tempted to eat it just to make him happy. Continue reading →

Hello dear APJ readers. How are you all doing?

Life is quiet here at the moment. Loving the routine and no added stress this week. As I sit and write this post, the sun is shining and the sky is a brilliant blue. The trees and bushes are starting to bud and as I walk around doing all of my errands each day, I stop and smell flowers along the way.
