Criminal Elements Sample Pack + GIVEAWAY

Hey there APJ Crew,

Corey Newcombe is a radically special young man. Fearless in life. If you get a chance read his mini biopic on the Criminal Elements site. Originally creating fragrance with a partner, Aelfrik, he is now doing his fabulous fragrant thing solo. Before I went to India a parcel arrived in the mail from him. Inside was one of the most beautifully created sample sets I’ve ever seen. Scott was on a design high for weeks after seeing it and I too was immeasurably impressed. Somehow Corey by going his own way manages to hit the super cool button every time.

The new pack comes in a Briefcase. Yep, a miniature plastic briefcase with fully functioning snap fasteners just like the real deal. It hold 8 x 2ml spray samples of the original 2015 released Base Elements. 2ml is the perfect sample size for me. It equates to a few really good full wears, enough to get to know the fragrances in different situations, also enough to get me fully addicted but not bored.

Criminal Elements Base Elements Sample Pack

I’m not going to review the whole set today but the two that caught my nose immediately. Later I will review others separately. The set contains Anther, Blackwater Thistle, Glimmer, Hearth, Hollow, Pyrus, Queer and Sepal. Yep, that’s 8 x 2ml spray samples AUD$45

Criminal Elements

Queer by Criminal Elements

Dragonfruit, leather, osmanthus, musk, blackcurrant, plum

Sweet leather, fruit, lightly animal and dark. Queer is surprisingly sheer while still being fully fragrant. A radiant leather. Imagine if Daim Blond was made by a witch.

Criminal Elements

Blackwater Thistle by Criminal Elements

Grass, violet, moss, soil, bullrush, thistle

Imagine standing on the edge of the moors and spring is here. There’s been plenty of rain and everything is growing apace, grass covers your ankles and there’s a purple blush across the landscape.

  1. Email. Ooh soil tincture! Earthy dirt notes are my favorite. I also had a pet named Pyrus so naturally I gravitated to that one 😊 I’m predictable lol

  2. What a brilliant marketing strategy! I love clove, so the addition of this note to Glimmer makes it of special interest to me. I follow APJ on email and FB, thanks for the chance! 🙂

  3. Thank you, Portia, this is a very generous and exciting giveaway!

    I follow by email.

My chosen note is driftwood, from Pyrus. As the weather has been a little warmer, I can smell the sea in the mornings, and it’s one of life’s great scents. I’d love to see if I get a reflection of that in Pyrus.
