Hi APJ,
A SOTD (Scent Of The Day) thread is a really good conversation generator. The idea is you’ll chime in through the week with whatever scent you are wearing. You don’t need to be super knowledgable, have high faluting tastes or be a published author to comment. Just tell us what fragrance you’re wearing, smelling, buying etc. and how it makes you feel and/or anything else about it that tickles your fancy.
You can also comment on everyone else choices too. It’s great to tell someone how much you love their choice, ask for more info about it, the house or perfumer. There’s someone here from around the world 24/7 and perfume people love to chat.
SOTD 3.9 – 9.9.2018
You probably won’t have time to write every scent, every spritz but whenever you feel the mood take you share your current spritz and a few things about it. Maybe you love/loathe it, want it, are excited by the notes/bottle/SA who sold it: WHATEVER! As always here at APJ, taking sides never means taking offence and everyone keeps it respectful and light, even though we can sometimes trawl the depths.
Hopefully you will come back and see if anyone has responded to your comment and you can reply to them.
Go To It Crew.

Woke up, thought Heeley’s Chypre 21 was about right to wake me up after a rotten night’s sleep. Then my Kiste arrived three days earlier than expected, so, of *course* i have to put that one. Because new treasure, and because it’s gorgeous. But that lush and swoony richness really didn’t suit going to the gym…
LikeLike
HA! Was it OK at the gym Crikey?

Not for other people, because it was just one spritz and seems to wear quite close, but it was a bit distractingly rich in my own sphere. And wow, is it ever persistent! After the gym, it survived a ten minute swim, a twenty minute sauna, and a good shower leaving still a noticeable trace on my hand. (bloody lovely, though)

Aye, Chypre 21 is very much a go-anywhere scent! This was more like pudding for breakfast. Amazingly indulgent, but just wrong in the circumstances. That said, I really don’t worry about other people’s delicate sensibilities when I am in the gym, because nearly everyone is stinking up the place in one way or another. (And my perfume of choice is probably a better thing to encounter than an unwashed cardio-fiend, or a bicep-curling Axe-abuser. But I might be kidding myself.)

It appears I have used the contents entirely of some vials ,yet still put them back in my ‘sample boxes’. I am currently wearing 4 fragrances…1ml thunked vials
They are; Clandestine Clara and the Bewitching Yasmine by Penhaligon’s.

I wish Penhaligons had spent as much time, thought, and expense on the juice as they did on the back stories and packaging. Have they done anything in recent years that matches up to instantly-discontinued Ostara?

Deeply irritating day. I went to get my refund application in for the 5 months left on my season ticket when I got back to Edinburgh on Friday evening. After about half an hour of fannying around and doing paperwork, and phoning head office, they decided I had to back to Glasgow to get it signed off (because it was over that office’s limit.) Aye, I *really* wanted to do that journey again, having just stopped going back and forth. Went today. More fannying about. LOADS of it. I was in the office for 45 minutes. And learned that there had been no reason whatsoever to have gone there. Turns out everyone else was wrong. New system. Etc etc blah blah blah. That was four hours of my day wasted today. And I’ll be about 400 quid down on the deal when the money finally comes through. That’s a lot of perfume.
At least I smelled good on a surprisingly hot and stressful day: Guerlain Vetiver. Some clean, serene, airy but not mean green. Just right. Oh, and I had a cracking bench session. Slowly but surely getting some strength back. Still super-light weights, but I’m feeling a difference. And 2 of the 10kg of bodyweight shifted so far. Fingers crossed I can keep both of these on track for the next 18 weeks…

H all. Friday morning has arrived….yippee for some, not so much fun for me. Jyotsna, have things ‘settled down ‘ a little after all the shenanigans of the last month at Parliament House? I have a tiny little drop of Chergui however it is so small it seems to have ‘crystalized’ at the bottom of the vial, so I cannot wear it. Is it orig. Be Delicious your co- working is wearing? Does it suit her? Now ,it will not be a shock to all on this forum that one of the first things I think of when I wake is; What day is it? ie I obs get more excited on Monday through Wed {my weekend}. I’m sitting at my computer, surrounded by many pastic bags of various sizes containing various sizes of sample/ decant vials. As we have discussed recently ,it is time to THUNK ,declutter and keep those which are loved, and use them up.
So guess what kids… I’ve decided that a few of my residents who are very much in their twilight years…even months in one case, and who don’t have relatives visiting are going to benefit from my thunking. So the ladies of my work will be wearing Atelier Cologne Pomelio Paradis. I will be wearing Plum Japonais by Tom Ford.

Hello all, nearly 10pm Saturday night. I chose a very neglected fragrance today for my work. Marina de Bourbon. I smell like a sweet fruit punch without alcohol. And just to clarify, I do not give the ladies at work the samples. Thy each have dementia ,and are alone ie without visitors, and close to the end of their innings. I have been spraying their necks, or wrists as a part of hygiene changes. I’ll be showering soon, and applying Shalimar.

That’s such a caring thing you do. They may be lost in the depths of dementia but they won’t have lost their sense of smell and I’m sure they’re enjoying the feeling of a little extra pampering and attention.

That is a beautiful gesture.

I think for today I might just go with something simple like a lavender oil or frankincense oil. I have been wearing the heck out of Heaven and Incense Pure all week because I just needed a no brainer frag to get me through the work week. I may be doing the same for the next few weeks so my SOTD reports will be extraordinarily boring 😦

Never boring, and always relevant. The lavender may help to calm the frazzled nerves😉

A heavy hand of La Fille de Berlin today since I was by myself.
Spent the afternoon doing some mandala inkwork while watching Midsomer Murders. A perfect, relaxing day.
SOTN is some white patchouli soap. Very nice.

@Brigitte- Yes, I had noticed your gravatar! My FB one is a mandala I drew. The mandala made the other day has some handwritten text – all dialogue from that MM episode 😄

Is the Midsomer Murders on Netflix? It is such an unlucky village to live in lol.

Yes it is on Netflix and I think there are something like 16 seasons so you will have lots to watch!!!!

Hi all. Went to work wearing Blenheim Bouquet, came home showered and I’ve given myself a couple hearty sprays of Clinique Wrappings.

Oh Saffy…Clinique Wrappings, my greatest perfume love! Do you have a “vintage” one or a newer version?

9GEM has re-runs twice a week- Tuesday and Sunday. But you won’t be seeing in order, then. I’ve watched the entire series so I don’t mind repeats.
It’s a terrible place to live, for sure.

Bal a Versailles for a lazy Saturday mooching around the house. Hopefully won’t have to take calls from work later to troubleshoot the glitches remotely. Went for a lovely walk earlier with furry daughter and have the house to myself for a few days as hubby is working away. I will have full command of the TV, Wohoo.

I hear you, Cassie! That’s a modern version of a ball at Versailles – having the house all to yourself 🙂

Do not take calls from work….unless there is a text saying the place is on fire and you accidently left your fave cashmere scarf there and want to retrieve it lol. What I’m saying is….time off means no work calls.

Luckily I didn’t get any calls at all!

Did you just have a major release? That’s when we have to be on standby— to troubleshoot. Glad you didn’t have to field any calls.
Bal a Versailles is awesome!

Neva it is a new version of Clinique Wrappings, only bought last year. Today I haven’t worn any perfume, until I sprayed some at 8pm . A sample of Montale’s Red Aoud.
