Hi there APJ Crew,
I have a great penchant for vintage frags and particularly love to find parfum or extrait versions of them. Lately I have had a few really amazing finds and wins and I’d like to share the vintage largesse with you. Below are links to APJ reviews of each fragrance and an approximate year of production, the ones without years means I can’t find the correlating bottle years and/or there is no Batch Code. The samples will not be huge but you’ll get enough to have a couple of decent wears (or one really lavish one) so you have a mental reference when you see these lovelies in stores, on eBay or blogs.
These are the good stuff but I also have had a few fakes and dummy bottles come through too. Many times the seller doesn’t know or care enough about fragrance to tell the difference, a good fake can fool the average seller & headspace technology has made it easier to copy and then other times they are bad people. I have also started to notice that they are topping up their 1/2 full bottles with perfumers alcohol, REALLY annoying because you get kind of the right scent but the open is really alcoholic, which can feel like top notes going. Maybe one in 20 that I buy are not 100% genuine.

Unlimited supply? So difficult! A three-way tie between Vent Vert, Givenchy III and Caleche. Greens and chypre and citrus yet each of these three equally thrills me and helps me feel confident, sexy and like an elegant grown up. I follow via email.

I would dearly wish for unlimited vintage Jolie Madam – the skanky leather and pre IFRA violets is, to me, the epitome of classiness.
I enjoy following you through email 🙂

A wonderful giveaway. I follow via mail, RSS, WordPress, FB and Twitter. Maybe it is not so vintage, but it is discontinued, even as a newer version that was a part of Givenchy’s Les Parfumes Mythiques. INSENSÉ! The biggest floral, a perfume that I adore. Its historical importance is huge. Today, its beauty can be compared only with some Artisan perfumes. I love all the perfumes from your selection, but Diorissimo is my favorite among them, Shalimar and Mitsouko follow it. Thank you.

Hi Portia,
This is a great draw but no need to enter me. Your question made me realize that I already have what will probably be a lifetime supply (albeit not free) of most of my favorite vintage fragrances. For fun, though, I would love one free of Guerlain’s new Petite Tortu in the re-issued turtle bottle. 😉

I would love to have a lifetime supply of vintage Shalimar. Amazing stuff. Also vintage Egoiste. Both are out of this world. I don’t know the vintage Mitsouko, but I’m very exited with the possibility of trying it.
I follow by e-mail 🙂
Oh, and I DO agree with Tung and Damir about Givenchy Insencé. I had it back when it first came, and I remember when it was on sale for NO money, because it just didn’t sell. Oh, how I wish I had bought liters of it. Now I only have 5 drops left.

I wish to have an infinite amount of Givenchy Insensé, therefore I could use it everday. Insensé is my most favourite (masculine) floral scent, follwed up by FM Carnal Flower.

I follow by e-mail. I would have loved having lots of vintage Chanel no. 19 or le Dix, but have decided I won’t look for vintage. I loved Chanel no.5 in the 80s (got a vintage bottle as a present), but sadly it is one of a handful perfumes I am allergic to.

What a sweet give-away! I follow through e-mail. I’m sadly unfamiliar with any of the other vintage perfumes listed here other than Chanel. If I could have an unlimited supply, it would have to be Chanel Coco. Such a beautiful smell to wear all around! As always, thank you for the giveaway! 🙂

One of my favourites was Kenzo by Kenzo.. produced in 1988 . It was one of my first adult purchases when i started earning money and has an amber, moss, musk, patchouli, vetiver, base.. Screams 80’s .. heavy and long lasting.
I still have a bottle which I now use to spritz the house with ..never throw away perfumse that has gone off !
.. like walking though a time warp in my house, within every spritz .. 🙂
just gotta find my shoulder pads now.
