Hello Lovelies,
With all the kerfuffle and change happening around Miss Dior I thought we should take a new look at the frag and we also get to have a sneak peek at the ads. Enjoy
DIOR: Miss Dior 2012 by Francois Demachy
Fragrantica gives these featured accords:
Top: Italian mandarin
Heart: Egyptian jasmine absolute and rose
Base: patchouli and musk
Sorry but this is about as far away from how I want to smell as you can get. Not a bad fragrance, just so completely not my cup of tea. I know there are many fans of 2012 Miss Dior and I wish you well wearing it. The ads on the other hand are FABULOUS!!!
DIOR: Miss Dior 2013 Ad. and Making of with Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman is Jin’s favourite actress, mainly for her perfect beauty, and via osmosis one of mine. I love the 2013 mini movie and here we also get to glimpse a moment behind the scenes. This movie was shot by Sofia Coppola and has a transcendent, ethereal quality that feels very big screen and Natalie Portman is exsquisite. I love to feel a little like I’ve been there, don’t you?

The Final Mini Movie
Oooh, Grace Jones – an incredible performer and icon! =)

Isn’t she. I was lucky enough to spend a night once, back in the 1990s, partying with her in Heaven in London. what a CER-AY-ZEE night that was.

She is quite fabulous. I went to see her in the 70s at a club called Limelight in Hollywood, FL. She came out with whips and we were all so close to her when she was on the stage I actually got a tail end a whip. Yes, I was flogged by Grace Jones. 🙂
What a powerful voice and fabulous performer. Thanks for the memory. Xox

love the behind the scenes! I have yet to sample Miss Dior 2012 as I am still lamenting the demise of vintage miss dior…
Natalie is indeed stunning but I absolutely adore Kiera Nightley and Gwenyth Paltrow!
thanks for sharing!

Hey Brie,
Glad to see you.
I love Kiera too but isn’t she Coco Mademoiselle? And I don’t adore Gweneth, though she is gorgeous and I own some of her movies. Isn’t she the face of COACH now?

the answer is “yes” to both questions….just putting in my two “scents” as to who I think is beautiful….same as you (via osmosis as hubby finds them stunning 🙂 !! Lucky for me I match them in “thinness”-LOL!).

Umm … Wanted to clarify, late 70s (yes, it still makes me old but still 😉 )
And in my haste to talk about the lovely Grace I forgot to mention I didn’t like this fragrance very much either but agree La Natalie is super gorgeous!

Awesome! I love that you were whipped by Grace, it doesn’t matter when. And Miss Dior is meant for other than us.

The Dandy too has a Grace story, involving a lot of rain, a mud slide and her arriving on stage very late in a park in Brixton around the turn of the millennium.. perhaps one best forgotten.
As indeed is the travesty masquerading as Miss Dior, I, personally wouldn’t touch it with an enemy’s bargepole.
Back to Grace. saw her last at HM The Queen’s Jubilee concert, what a performer!
Yours ever

I’m so glad we all have reminiscences of Grace Jones. She was, and still is I imagine, a powerhouse of outrageous and all that’s stunning. I missed her in Sydney a couple of years ago but everyone still raves at dinner parties about her.

I refuse to call this abomination “Miss Dior” – no matter how lovely Ms Portman is.

You may know I love the Le Parfum version, but I truly have not yet been brave enough to smell the 2012 Eau de Parfum except in passing at the store.
