Leaving for India! What fragrances did I pack?

Hey Crew,

It’s time to pack bags and jet off again.I have written and sent all my Trivias to the girls. There are some REALLY curly Q&A this time ladies. The APJ family has worked overtime to make sure all their contributions are ready to launch while I’m gone, they’ve all been edited and pictures, notes and all the frills have been added and linked. THANK YOU GUYS!! My clothes are all washed, the beds are changed, food has been bought, prepared and frozen and I am almost ready to go. The plane leaves at 10.15 and I am writing to you from 2pm. How organised is that? Normally I’m throwing crap in my bags as we should be leaving.

This trip I know there wont be much fragrance shopping like in Europe or LA sop I’ve decided to do a decant set for my travels 5ml & 8ml. It’s always so hard to choose and today is no exception. So what made the cut?

Ava Luxe Tuberose Diabolique Parfum
Caron Royal Bain de Caron
L’Artisan Parfumeur Cote d’Amour
Iunx Splash Forte Friction de Iunx
Jean Paul Gaultier Fleur de Male
Tauer L’Air Du Desert Marocain

I am also taking from Neela Vermeire Creations a bottle of Bombay Bling. How could I not? And a Vintage Chanel No 5 Parfum.

So I just watched this video below and I’m crying like a baby, its been nearly three years since I’ve been back to India am I’m so excited to get back and see my buddy and his family and the magic that is India. I can almost smell it it’s so real in this little Incredible India ad. I can’t believe I’m going back……

See you tomorrow!!

  1. I think you will surely smell fabulous on your journey! I would love to hear when you return which one of those became your India Perfume. I am wondering if you will go for blending in, (Bombay Bling & L’Air du Desert) or if you will create a fragrant stir in the air around you? Whichever, I think those in your scent trail will be very happy.

    • I loved that book but was saddened by its sloppy ending. Christopher? Alexander?
Great read though and one day I will stand at the southern tip of India and have my eyes fixed as the monsoon arrives.

  2. enjoy your visit – your doosri baar or is it third or fourth time? I took Slumberhouse’s Pear and Olive earlier this year. And Mohur and Bling and Trayee. Premier Figuier, as well.

    • WOW!! I didn’t even think to put in Pear + Olive, what a fabulous idea. We have very similar frag tastes BY THE WAY!!
I have been coming to India once or twice a year since 2000 with a break since 2010’s visit. If you come here regularly then we should endeavour to catch up one time.

  3. What a dream! I do hope you find some authentic Mysore Santalum album, Assam oud or a source for some gorgeous ruhs. Looking forward to hearing what you find on your olfactory journey!

  5. What a fun video! I love how her head bobbles around while she is sleeping 🙂

If I went to India, I would probably spend most of my time eating 🙂 I wish you a wonderful trip, Portia, and look forward to seeing the country through your eyes! Eat well for me!

    • OMG!! It is a gourmets fantasyhere in India BaconBiscuit212 on my first night in Delhi we went to a street restaurant and had the most ridiculously delicious vegetarian thali, a South Indian multi mini size portion plate with dahl, chutney, curds, very spicy potato dish, mint yoghurt, garlic naan and some HOT sides that i have no ingredient memory of. You should be here.
