When Michael & I were meeting the crew at First In Fragrance in Germany. Beate and the crew (Shane, Sabine, Margit, Katharina) were so amazing that they wanted to do something special for the Australian Perfume Junkies blog. I was saying “No No No, You’ve done so much, Been too generous already”  but Beate decided that she was going to gift me with €165 worth of Colonia Intensa Oud by Acqua di Parma to use as a giveaway when we next did something exciting at APJ. It doesn’t get much more exciting than 300,000 views.

Also, did you know that First In Fragrance sample is around 3-4ml and comes in a spray atomiser? They are very reasonable priced and send to the world. Go check their stuff.

  1. Lucky you visiting FIF!
On my wishlist, and on my arm today was Neela Vermeire Ashoka with notes of fig leaves.
I follow by email, unfortunately am Tweet-free.

  2. Congrats on the landmark!
I picked Keiko Mecheri Bespoke – Cuir Fauve and leather.
I was gonna ask who matt Czuchry was too 🙂 but a quick google brought me to the face of Cary Agos.
I follow by email and tweeted.

  3. I follow via RSS feed (via Feedly now that Google Reader is dearly departed!) I picked Juliette Has a Gun’s Midnight Oud in the spirit of the Acqua di Parma Intensa Oud giveaway. Also, I’m a big fan of Midnight Oud. 🙂

  4. Congrats on the landmark views! Acqua di Parma is one line I am still not familiar with… which is slightly odd since it’s got quite a reputation and it’s not too difficult to find.

  5. I follow via email. Thanks for telling me about this marvelous place. I chose Rania J – Ambre Loup, with ambergris notes and essences of labdanum. This wolf can be at my door any time.

  6. Wow, Portia!!!!
APJ is a wonder-full place full of wonderful people and it’s all your fault! Thanks for the introduction to First in Fragrance: what a great collection.
Borsari 1870 – Violetta di Parma, Violet.
I follow via email & liked y’all on FB.
Love in the Spring Winds, J

  7. Yay! What a huge number! I guess it’s so flattering that you could not believe it! You deserve it, APJs! A great bunch of fumies like you is not that frequent to bump into!!! Go on! Shine on!
Thanks for the fabulous giveway! I follow on FB and by email.
I got Tann Roka – Kisu with its rosewood as a heart note!

  8. i’m not sure why everyone wants to punish people who are not on facebook, but i will have a spy keep their eye on the facebook page.

Rancé 1795 – Les Étoiles – Tubéreuse Amour contains (surprise!) tuberose.

    i follow by eamil/wordpress.

congrats on the masses who adore you (i’m so glad i’m a new follower to help you get to this critical mass!)

and thank you for the generous drawers! oh. draws. >;)

    • Hey einsof,
Punishing? No. This is about better reach, more involvement and the growth of the APJ family (hopefully)

The reason we are trying to build the Facebook page following is so we have better Brand Power so we can meet more fabulous perfumers, house CEOs, curators and shopkeepers so we can bring you better content. It will also help us get bigger and better giveaways.

On top of that, it’s a great way to get a bit interactive in a new way and it will give you some FB only updates.

We do understand you not being on FB though, it isn’t for everyone.

This is a trial for us. We were wondering….
      Portia xx

      • you know, here’s the thing about jackson pollock: it’s all about perspective.

you are absolutely correct and on target; of course you want more exposure and to build the weight of your wonderful world here. i, myself, would be delighted to tell every listening ear and i already enjoy every post as if i were sneaking macaroons on a diet or perhaps a young girl who is passing notes about boys & bras with her friends!

you’re very wise in your use of social media and it’s power and reach of communication!

the other perspective is i am oddly private for such an outgoing person and was wanting to win a contest.

i am thankful you (and all my dear friends who really want me to have a book of face page or become a twit) have made me, again, think about my knee jerking. i’m honestly enjoying your bigger perspective and miss portia, et al, i am thrilled to find a perfume perspective which is fun and informative, not exclusive and dismissive.

i can’t wait to see where you steer us next- into greater & greater perfumed art discussions, interactions & informations. (ok, well, i wanted it to sound poetic, dammit.)

        • HA! Einsof,
You have made my morning with your mad prattle. Thank you. Great way to start the day. I LOVE Pollock BTW. Now that was some serious crazy, perfection. We have his Blue Poles here in Australia and I love to visit it.
          Portia xx
