Circa Home: Luxury Home Fragrance

Hey APJ,

My mate Ainslie Walker has started working for the Glasshouse group who are an Australian Candle, Fragrance and Cleanliness crew. They happen to have a luxury line called Circa Home. From the thick waxy cardboard, brightly coloured modern art exterior to the vessels and fragrances themselves they feel and smell like luxurious homewares should. She gave me a bunch to test and I wanted to share some of my findings with you all. Circa Home Soy Wax Candles are handmade in Australia using natural soy wax, high quality fragrant oils and lead-free cotton wicks

Available online or in David Jones stores they are a perfect last minute, can’t believe I forgot Aunt Beryl, or even something to have pre-wrapped in the wardrobe in case the neighbours turn up with gifts unexpectedly.

The biggest surprise is how affordable they are. Prices start at as little as under $15!

Circa Home: Luxury Home Fragrance

Raspberry and Rhubarb is my favourite scent that I was given to try. It’s a modern fruity floral with a green heart that lifts it beyond my expectation. With only a few tweaks I could see this as a fine fragrance in the Aedes des Venustas line. Below I’m burning the candle.

Here’s the  Raspberry and Rhubarb Diffuser in my bathroom. I love the white on white but I bet it would look stellar in a more modern dark with chrome or old fashioned wood bathroom.

I have to tell you a secret. I’m not opening this Hand Wash and Hand & Body Lotion. The Blood Orange fragrance is going to be a big winner with a citrus mad buddy of mine at Christmas. Yes, I’ll tell them it was a gift from the brand but they will be freaking thrilled.

Cinnamon Sticks is another winning fragrance in my books. Cozy and warm like Christmas should be. This is what I’ll be burning over the Christmas period to give even sweltering Sydney a little bit of festive cheer.

These are the kind of thing I like to find wrapped up with my name on the card. Thanks Ainslie Walker and Circa Home for thinking of me. Available online or in David Jones stores.

You’re welcome.
Merry Christmas.

Portia xx

  1. I adore Glasshouse and Circa Home! We departed Australia at the end of 2016, after 7 years of living in Sydney and having unlimited access to those incredible candles and products. We moved to Denmark, and then Italy, and friends visiting from Australia hauled candles and diffusers in their suitcases with them when they came to visit. Now we are living back in the USA (our native land) and enjoying the Christmas season with an old Sistine Chapel Glasshouse candle we keep stored with the xmas decorations. In our spare room is a Circa Home Ginger and Ylang Ylang diffuser that smells so divine, every single guest asks about it. You cannot find Glasshouse or Circa Home here, and it’s such a shame. I have not yet found a comparable candle available in the USA…even my beloved Diptyque Oud candle doesn’t stand up to Glasshouse/Circa Home in terms of beauty, power to scent a room, and affordability. Anyway, all this to say…thank you for the post, and all of you Aussies enjoy those candles the rest of the world covets! And congratulations on the new job to Ainslie!

  2. I adore Glasshouse. It’s one brand where the scent actually lingers in the room. One of their candles (Sistine Chapel) is burning right now in the bathroom. I will keep an eye out for Circa – especially Cinnamon Sticks as it sounds like a lovely scent.
