We are coming up to the launch of the Rozy Extrait. I have been smacking my head against a wall for the last year trying to come up with something to say about the Rozys – Edp and the Voile. Verges on the impossible. If we are familiar with a fragrance before we read about it, we can then do something with what has been written. However if we do not know the perfume of which we are reading, it is much more difficult, if not impossible to know how it will smell. Hands up those who have read about something, only to try it and wonder where it all went wrong.

The Militia Company of District II under the Command of Frans Banninck Cocq (better known albeit incorrectly as Rembrandt´s “The Night Watch”) is a stunning piece of art, and one of the most famous paintings in the world. But until you have seen it you have no idea how awe inspiring it is. It is housed in it´s own room the “Nachtwachtzaal” in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. It is 363 cm x 437 cm (142.9 in x 172.0 in). You can try to describe it but the only way to be able to see the fine nuances of the painting’s complex colour palette is to go to the Rijksmuseum. The only way to smell the fine nuances in Vero Kern´s Rozys is to wear them.
Imagine that you need to describe honey to someone who has never tasted sweet.
Rozy EdP + Voille d’Extrait by Vero Kern for Vero Profumo 2014
Photo Stolen Fragrantica
Fragrantica gives these featured accords in one line:
Oriental rose, tuberose, currant buds and leaves, honey, spices, sandalwood, labdanum, powdery notes, tarragon, peach, passionfruit, hyacinth
Both Rozys are objects of desire, lust and adoration, stains on the skin.
The Rozy EdP is hazy, peachy, rosy, sweet, divine, innocent and yet full of desire. Warm and erotic. It melts into the skin, thus becoming as one with the wearer. Bewitching. This perfume spills its secrets only over time. My most worn .vero.profumo..
The Rozy Voile d’Extrait?
“Gather your wits and hold on fast,
Your mind must learn to roam.
Just as the Gypsy Queen must do
You´re gonna hit the road” (The Acid Queen. Pete Townsend)
Wearing this is making a pledge or a vow to hold on until the end. A cerise ocean with and honey-capped sandalwood waves. A blushing rosy pink, tangerine colored aura, as near to radio-active as a perfume can get, shockingly surreal, and yet in perfect harmony. Astounding.

“The rose is the flower of virgins and women, but also of vice and prostitution. Thorns and roses symbolize the ambivalence of love and sorrow – the drama of finite love.” Vero Kern
How beautiful are the Rozys? How long is a piece of string?

Wow. You really did find the words, Val. Amazing post about an amazing pair of perfumes. Can’t wait to hear about (and try) the extrait. You will have a blast in Milan next month.
I’m wearing the edp today thanks to your heads-up. The Voile got to me straight away but this one has really impressed me over time.

Yes tara. Me too. It took me quite some time to realize the beauty in it. The fragrances are very complex. And so clever, I mean how does she do that? xxx

Oh Val, what a lovely review! “A cerise ocean with and honey-capped sandalwood waves…” Makes me wish I had some Rozy on hand to put in right now. I’ve never tried it – I keep meaning to grab a full set of Vero samples, I’ll make that happen!
Thanks, great article.

Nectar-drippingly gorgeous review! And your pick of colours are just right to support it synaesthetically. Love Vero’s comment on rose perfumes too. Rummages for samples to enjoy these again…

Dear Val – such a lovely and dangerous review! You are a dangerous gateway drug – or rather, your eloquent writing about Vero Profumo is. I am anticipating today the delivery of the lion’s share of a split of Mito VdE. Having read your work on Vero’s oeuvre, I first got a sample from LuckyScent, then was stuck: couldn’t live without it, couldn’t afford a FB. Thank goodness for splits! But now I need to enjoy Mito, not explore more from Vero’s amazing line. Have a great time in March – I envy you!

Crazy vivid review, Val! Love everything about it.
The paragraph above the bee photo deserves to be turned into a couple of paintings (a radioactive rose inspired by the Cookie Queen – the muse). I was looking for a subject for my new set of fluorescent acrylics! The easels are set up in the greenhouse and the canvases are stretched and ready to go! This is all for my own amusement, of course (the artist – the amateur) but while I “work” I will wear my Rozy EdP sample (TY!) for even more inspiration.

Can’t wait! I have LOVED everything I’ve tried so far from Vero but have only sampled the EDPs and bought Rozy. However they’re so outstanding that I can see why you stick to only wearing them now. They feel like they’re in another league.

Came in late. Thanks to you, I’m head over heels with Vero Profumo. Classy, unique and beautiful. I’ve been mulling over which one to get first… Haven’t tried neither of the Rosy yet but I have a suspicion that I’d love. I wish I could be in Milan…

Hi TM! I couldn’t possibly say which one to get first. My first love was Rubj EdP closely followed by Mito EdP. But I love them all and rarely wear anything else. That might change one day, but right now I am perfectly happy with it. Wearing Rozy EdP constantly. How about Milan next year? Time to plan. xxx

Sounds good idea. I’ve got to make Milan next year.
Among those VP line I’ve tried so far, my first will be Rubj closely followed by Mito as well. Need to start saving up!
